Certainly a UK member ...Perhaps you Glenn ! ;)
I hope that the RX-8 will be in the Paris auto show next month...

HI RPM RX3

my brother has been told by mazda that he is no. 42 in uk.

HI RPM RX3

are you guys all booking your test drives? guys over here are booking them 6, 8 months in advance!!!

My girlie works for Mazda so I have reserved my ride a week before official launch in oz , the dealerships get a demo to play around with before the public gets its grotty little hands on them , ah gotta love the contacts . Fingers crossed all goes to plan .

She told me they have already sold 5 at their dealership this year without the people even seeing them yet , nobs . You just know they are gonna be bought by rich poofs who just have to have the latest thing and dont give a toss about rotors , grrrrrrrrr makes me mad . They will probably think its powered by a 4 cylinder !

i already have mine ordered here in the states i am neither a rich poof nor someone who has to have the latest thing. i do know what a rotary is and don\'t think it is powered by anthing other. this happens to be the best car for the money that has what i need/want in a vehicle. while there may be some like you have talked about, the majority of us are buying for the rotary and the great car.  :cheers

O.k take it easy , nothing personal . I was commenting on the fact that most of the people my girlfreind has sold them too have been these type of people , she knows alot about rotors so is in a position to judge , I was merely having a light hearted poke at the type of people that live here in Australia , they wouldnt know what a rotor is if you asked them . I know there are performance enthusiasts like yourself who buy the rx8 because they know its a good thing but here in Sydney we are surround by the cashed up yuppie try hards who have to be SEEN in the latest car out . If i had the money i would buy one for sure . But i wouldnt buy one just to be SEEN driving around in one to try and be cool .

I know what you mean Allistair, I think the same thing is going to happen here in the UK.

But it will be a good thing if there are stacks of them sold of course :-)

I don\'t want the car to become like the Audi TT "Hairdressers Car" but it is such a good looking car, I think it will appeal to all without a doubt.

One thing I can see here is that it will be the perfect "reasonable budget" trackday car.  The rotary will just keep going and going - I think then, people that have doubts or had their doubts in the past about the engine will all change their mind when the see just how good it is.

Should be great!

:yes

sorry i should have made my reply more light hearted as well like"who are you calling a rich poof" wink wink nudge nudge. i wasn\'t really taking offense and do understand the people you are talking about, we have quite a few of them living \'round here too. hopefully there will be so few cars this first year and hopefully the enthusiast crowd will snatch the majority of them so  those people won\'t be able to get one.
i\'d hate to see it turn into a "hairdresser\'s" car also but it might be inevitable seeing how they need to sell as many as they can make. perhaps those folk will be the ones to run away once they get  that it\'s a rotary

Hi Zoom / Alistair,

l can see where you are both coming from on this , and l know your both good rotary men, fact is though the way the marketing seems to be going they really are trying to make this a "designer car " and l personally see no problem in trying to drag people from their TT\'s ( Hugely successful in the U/K) and makeing it "designer" because we need this to be a success to ensure Mazda build more exciting Rotary powered cars and out of this a percentage of people who initially won\'t care about the engine and WILL be enlightened and become real Rotary enthusiasts.

better swing by my house. :D

HI RPM RX3

im not too worried about it. i cant afford one new this year so let the dickhead yuppies buy them up, then after theyve driven them around like old women for a year or so, we can snap them up for ..oooh, say 30k. :)

And when those yuppie dicks start smashing them up we can start pulling the engines out and hang a hairdryer on them and see what they really are capable of  ( rubs hands in anticipation ) . Its almost more interesting to me who will be the first to put one in an ol skool rx . This is gonna be good !
