Does anyone know if i can re-register a uk fd from a 2.6 over to a 1.3?
Only cos i tight and dont wanna pay the extra tax!
Thanks iain

p.s sorry its a silly question!

Yeah change it on the V5 to 1.3 and add letter saying they only made a 1.3 and so it must have been registered wrong.
Thats all I did and got a replacement V5 in 1 week just in time for cheap tax!!

this will not apply to a uk car this is only for imports where there is shall we say a grey area..all uk cars were registered as a 2.6 after agreement between mazda and dvla re the cubic capacity..that is because the uk cars and their vin nos are registered with the database but not so the imports..otherwise every uk car wld already have done this

Bugger! was getting excited then. Mine\'s SORN at the minute so was going to give it a go.

I think you need to be careful not to give your insurance company any excuse not to pay out if you accidentally reprofile your "little" 1.3 Mazda against the local countryside.

My V5 says the car is a 1.3, but my insurance company have it listed as a 2.6. They said they have to go by what description comes up on their system. So they know what the logbook says, meaning I\'m nicely covered. Not that I want anything to happen meaning I need to claim, though! Of course, mine is an import too, though.

Ah balls....oh well...I did think being a UK car it would be an issue.
