double sided tape recomendations?

guys,

Need a good double sided sticky tape, the lights on the RX7 are coming away. Its basically a perspex cover over the top of a black plastic surround for the lights, i need some kind of strong waterproof tape to hold the covers on. Im using mounting tape from B&Q at the moment but its not up to the job and the covers are coming away...

any recomendations anyone?

had you thought about using a decent bodywork mastic, like sikaflex ? I take it\'s a permenant fix ?

well yeah it is permanent, but id prefer it to be removeable lol.

The problem is that the curvature of the perspex doesnt match the curvature of the lights themselves, which sucks.  Ideally i wanted some kind of foam tape...as to stick it down i have to clamp the part to get it to take, so i dont want anything thats going to squidge out the sides.

i\'ve seen 3M VHB tape used before and it is incredibly strong. As with most adhesives it\'s mostly down to how well the surfaces have been cleaned and what they are made of.

Maybe ill take a trip down to RS components or something i dunno.

Extra strong carpet tape should do the trick.. It\'s really thin and sticks like a big bag of sticky things!

Looks like a roll of masking tape or something but it\'s double sided with a shiney backing that peels off leaving you a sticky top!

Anyway, sounds like you\'ve got it sorted now.
