Hi

I would like to set up a water temperature gouge….can any one suggest where I could get one ?
New? Second hand?  Is it easy to install or do I need a control unit?

Hi
If you are planning to get a Apexi ecu and commander you will have a temp displayed on the comander saves buying a seperate gauge

I\'d get a defi BF gauge, along with an Oil temp one to go with it, not cheap but the dogs danglies.

You can set warnings for max and minimum values, very very useful that if it starts getting a little hot !!

Hi

Thank you all for replying

Dwarfslapper

I had every intension of getting the Apexi ecu but some idiot with out  insurance scraped the bottom of my lip and a touch of the nose so I have minor repairs ( got the lip from Japan delivered to the garage already) and a “chips away” job on the nose.  The Apexi will have to wait.  In the meantime I released that the original temperature gouge can not be trusted with an early warning so thinking of a way to protect the engine in case of over heating now.

I understand to be able to set warnings you have to buy the control unit aswell, right ?  Have you had it installed and how much was it in total ?

It may look simple to you and others but drilling any thing into the engine sounds terribly worrying .  Are you based in London ?

You would not by any chance fancy the “job” for a suitable fee including parts?  ( You never know, I thought I ask any way…)

Hi mate try these for  defi stuff   http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/gauges.html or http://www.endlessracingdesigns.co.uk/shop.php?qsearch=defi
I must confess i have these too and one day i will get round to fitting them not fussed at the mo as i have the comander to look at.
Well worth getting a gauge like you say and its cheaper than a rebuild
