Quote from: \'M@r{\']That looks great.  Does it wobble or vibrate much?  (kicking self for paying £50 for a b!oody holder now)

No vibration at all.The twists in the metal add rigidity. The only thing i might do is change the velcro for a type a bit tougher.

Very nice - if only I had paid more attention in metal work at school :)

Blimey Gerry that\'s a bit flash!!! Very tasty indeed!! What type of metal did you use? Is it polished alloy??

Gerry M

Its not mine wish it was, was thinking on getting the tinbasher at work to knock me up something similar in stainless. Looks just like polished alloy plate. wouldnt be too hard to knock up. Saying that thou a few scribes & couple of bends on the folder & i could do something similar, more used to knocking up metal cases for fag packets to stop them getting crushed in boilersuit pockets. I\'m just wondering if he brazed or glued them together as i see no pop rivets

Blimey, mines just stuck to the dash directly under my speedo covering it up passed 140mph. I use it more for speed too now and have injector duty, air and water temp displayed. Nice clear spot to look at and makes the info easy to see. Just 2 peices of velcro holding it in position.

Just out of interest why bung it in the middle of the car, makes it hard to get quick reference ???

That looks pretty cool, although not really a big fan because you have to turn your head slightly to see it.

Also the Apexi one is a ridiculous price for just a bracket !!!!

I have mine in the gap between the cigarette lighter and console, its easy to see and doesnt spoil the dash and make it look too cluttered. When parked I have one of those steering locks that covers the steering wheel and it hides the PFC too.

Just my 2pence worth

Nice find Gerry,what\'s he using as the plug?? Looks like plumbing kit?

Gerry M

1/2 inch plumbing connector I think, lose use of lighter socket thou so any radar detectors etc would prob need hard wired.

Hi Shaun.
I didn\'t want to clutter the dash up,so it seemed the only place without cutting or drilling.Like the idea the lad in the USA had come up with, but you do loose the use of the lighter for phone charger etc etc.

shaunwil

I can understand about the clutter :p

I\'ve taken a photo of the position i\'ve got it :

Hi Shaun
It\'s all down to taste i suppose.I really don\'t mind glancing away to look at the commander. If i had it up there i\'d spend more time checking the temp gauges rather than the road!! :rollin Dangerous, especially at the speeds we travel at :Giggle

shaunwil

lol, too true. You do seem to keep an eye on the air temps more :p
