Hi all, am looking for "something for the weekend." A recent test drive convinced me that the RX7 is the way to go-even though it was wet. I am in Peterborough and there is a place that imports them here but seemed a bit expensive. Basically I am after a 3rd gen, prob 92/3 and have a budget of around £850 or so. Firstly where should I go? And secondly are there any rotary specialists not too far away who can service it for me?
Thanks in advance for your help, sorry for the questions, no doubt asked numerous times before!

....of course should I be unable to find a good one for £850 I would be willing to stretch to £8500!

Your budget is enough to get you a good one.  Id advise seeing and preferably driving a few to get some comparisons.

Best places to look are the adverts on here really, and autotrader though some of these will give you nightmares.  Remember they generally need a rebuild about every 60k.  I got one that had just had this done and still under warrenty etc for around your budget.

Nearest places - well whilst not rotary specialist Option Motorsport are in Northampton and pretty close I think.  I dont know I dont leave my town much :D

then there\'s the usual rotary importers who r the daddies such as newera & the main men on this site such as Brian & evilrotor spring to mind all of which seem to offer good metal for the money.
Specialist wise i guess yer half way inbetween WGT & Hurleys but i did fail GCSE geography so dont quote me on that lol
Should get a nice piece of FD for 8500 i should imagine, if u wana idea of what you can get i suggest you have a gander at the sold stock list on neweras site here
[thread hijack] Raju wots the story u selling yer RX7 are you still guna be available for me to torment to join in local RX7 meets? lol

I will love to come to some meets, but i am trying to become an importer of the rotaries myself. I Sold this one but the buyer pulled out the day he was supposed to pick it up. I was already in the process of getting the next one in.

I have learned a great deal from this and i wish to learn a great deal more. I can already get hold of most common service parts along with other bits and bobs. But will take me some time to get a bit more competitive on body kits etc. Seeing as though i might be having this car until the new year if no one is willing to buy it i would love to meet up with some peeps in brum. I have already met martin who is a super chap, with a beast of an rx7.

I can get things like stereos subs ps2 etc quite cheap. And i am auto-electrician by trade. Also a semi-mechanic. And i own a car classified site. So sort of a atural transition as they are wicked cars.

Thx
