hi all, first of all i would like to say what a great forum,  i have spent loads of time on it and gained a huge amount of info, thanks all. i have had a twin turbo rx for about a week now, got it very cheap so expected to spend on it. i would like to pick your brains on a few points if i may.

the car has done 60000ish miles but has no paperwork to support a rebuild but the engine starts from hot or cold first time every time, there is no smoke on startup or under heavy acceleration and the temperature stays constant in the middle of the guage at all times inc heavy traffic.
the only problem i seem to have is on tickover, it seems to idle fine but has a random misfire every now and then? any ideas? doesnt happen when driving though

when i bought it i was told it was a type R, after reading the forum i am not to sure, it has leather rear seats and suede fronts, aircondtioning and no sunroof, its a mid 1992 car and after reading the threads there was mention of a plate on the drivers door shut which should say which type, i dont have one, is there any other way of telling?

I am in protsmouth so reworx is handy for me so i think after reading the forum a compression test is essential, any other recommended checks to ask for?

are there any gatherings in the protsmouth/hampshire area?

and finally (for now!) i was thinking of a veilside bodykit, but think the car is really pretty as standard so seems a shame to spoil the good looks, what do other people think about the radical changes of some of these bodykits or does anyone think there is a better looking kit than the veilside? your veiws would be much appreciated,

thanks in advance

if it\'s a 92 import from japan then it won\'t have the drivers door jam sticker, they started with the 94? cars i think and went through to the G-FD3S 5xxxxxx cars
cause the states raves about the R most dealers seem to label them that if they are even close
however the majority of japanese cars in 92 were the S model i think

Best thing to do is to take it to RE:Worx and ask them to check it over. Saves wasted time trying to econd guess what the issue might be.

Also, lots of people here have gone for body kits - no shame in that. The FD is a pretty car as standard, but many of the kits available work very well with the shape and lines of the car. Veilside is a popular kit to put on.

have been to reworx and will be booking it in for a service and checkover soon, looks like it is a type r, (not sure if its a good or bad thing!) the suspension is very hard but this doesnt bother me, a very underated car now i have had some experience with driving it! are there any gatherings in the portsmouth area?
