A couple of questions, plus after a few bits

:2Rolleyes My car seems to be a little smokey for the first minute when i start it up. this is when it is completly cold. after a minute or 2 this goes. is this normal, or has anyone any ideas.

i have to usual foglight in the rear bumper same as where the reverse light is, the switch is in the console where the gearstick, handbreak etc is. however there is no lighton the dash to show when the fog light is on. is ther actually a light on the dash, where the bulb is gone. or do imports not have a light on the dash? Rotchnics told me it will not pass MOT like this apparently, i am sure i could find some where that will but just wondered if anyone knows if it might simply be a bulb etc

Also apparently my shock covers are pretty deteriated (also incorporate the bump stops? so i have heard). i figured to change them is going to cost a fair bit, so i thought it might be an idea to just upgrade suspension early. i was wondering if anyone had any coilovers or after market shocks etc for sale?

i am also after a drivers side headlight as mine is all loose in the casing due to the fact one of the mounting points has snapped. on ebay there is a pair of clear headlights for a couple of hundred does anyone know anything about these. i am a bit inclined to buy them as i would ideally like to buy some flush non pop ups in time.

i have a ARC ali box style intake with a square flat filter on the front, does anyoneknow where i can get a replacement filter for it?

if anyone has any ideas etc, will be much appreciated

In reply to your first question.. I think a bit of smoke on start up is normal. I get it on my FD and I\'m sure others on here will tell you the same.

Just get a switch for the fog light that has a light in it when it\'s on. That\'s the easiest thing to do - Jap imports don\'t originally have rear fog lights - it\'s not a requirement over there, but is here. So it\'s a diy job, and people do there\'s differently.

my car has a proper fog light switch, same as any of the other buttons etc, it is n\'t an after market switch. so all i need is some sort of light to indicate when it is on? could be anything such as a little LED next the switch?

also, where can i get my car rolling roaded and at what cost.

i was told a bhp figure when i bought the car, but have nothing to prove it. would like to know what she really is pushing out and have evidence.

In reply to the first question, yes its normal for a little smoke for the first minute or so then will clear, if doesn\'t clear even after a drive then theres a problem, otherwise its cool

that is a bit of a relief. it clears after a min, as soon as there is a little heat in the engine it goes.

My car has a switch for the fog light in the same place as yours. The switch itself has a little LED light actually on the switch, which turns on when the switch is in the on position.

If you want to see, you can just about make it out from one of the interior shots that I posted today on my sale thread (see link below). It\'s the middle switch that controls the rear fog. Don\'t confuse it with the other red LED you see on the console. That\'s for the alarm.

For the fog I think mine just has an LED next to the switch, but I have two switches that look identical, think one is for front fogs that aren\'t there

I\'ve just sprayed a spare reverse light red and will hook it up as the rear fog and see how it performs.

The vast majority in the U.K are copies... come are very poor..as i found out..so watch them..i had 3 identical bumpers but only 1 would fit... but some are also very good..so its worth shopping around..

I have temporarily sorted the head light, little bit of a bodge, but it will hold for a while. at least there is no way it is going to fly out on heavy breaking. :rollin

any one got any idea about the bump stops, suspension gaiters?

plus any ideas on the air filter?

another question. i have the standard bose head unit and CD player. it hasnt worked since i got it, i know about the frequency thing i=on the jap radio, but does anyone know the easiest, cheapest way or sorting this.
and also any reason why the CD player wont play anthing and just keeps throwing CDs back out.

My rex still has the Bose Wave thing in the boot, as i havent heard it can anyone tell me what is actually like. or is it worth taking out?
