Cops again...

Well just got in from a nice midnight cruise mission, cos i wanted to get some vids. Theres a nice national speed limit (private road) 1 mile stretch with round abouts at both ends which is usually dead after 11pm. So there we were taking some fly-by\'s and some launch\'s.

We had been there around 15 mins taking vids, we had just parked up in the lay-by to check the vids, when a car does a sharp U turn and comes roaring up towards us. When it gets closer we see its a Volvo T5 Estate, 2 big coppers procede and get out of the car. Both were fully armed and kitted out. They asked the usual "Whats going on here then" etc "Just taking some videos" Mims repied..."O right, lets see"...so Mims showed him some tape..."HAHA thats good enough for court that! Ah and anyway mines much quicker than that" the bigger one says  :eek...the other guy was just giving me the usual Q&A where am i from, is it my car etc etc but in a very friendly and chilled manor.

After the pleasantries and abit of banter about the car, the big one (Chris as we now know him by) says "Lets have a go then"  :2eek  so off we went for a burn :driving  Came back and he blabs "I still think mines quicker!"  :Hammer
So in a joking manor i said "Well wana race and see?" to my absolute disbelief he said "Yeh go for it, but you cant film it!!!" :Hammer

We only had 2 runs but i dusted him after 2nd on both. I still have the limiter on the GTC so couldnt go over 3rd but even then i was a good 3 car lengths infront! We ended up chilling with them for a good 10-15 mins!!! We didnt get to film it but we did film them take off before they left "For a kebab"  :p

See - not all plod are evil  Nice when you find some that are reasonable and knew that what you\'re doing wasn\'t endangering anyone so it\'s not an issue!

And their comment about it being enough for court... it probably was (burnouts and drag launches are enough!).

my g/f works in the local police station & one of the police officers was looking for a 2 seater sports car. most people are told by police to get car off the road, I was told get mine back on the road,was awaiting brake parts. Let 2 of them have a go, told me a bit about the high speed training they do after I wondered why he\'d accelerate then let off on a straight road with loads of road left, its to do with half distance, the pair of them couldnt believe how quick a fd was.

The comment after they asked me to show them what car was really like was on a straight road was " i think i need to change my underwear" The police office in the front seat said he couldnt move his head to see the speedo due to the acceleration.

They\'ve also been passengers in my B4 RSK & i was told our focus would never catch this but i knew that.

like most people they are normal & quite a few of them are petrolheads, and just like us they do switch off from the job when off duty.

LOL..class... shame they arnt the same round us.. although in fairness a couple fof the local customers are regulars with us (tyre department) and they are half human! they even get a new sti 9 with us..but its a shame they man the local A road so heavily..its a bikers haven up here so we get speed cameras galor.

Yep was the truth, one of them (not chris) asked to see some footage, so while i was turning the cam back on he said "Does this thing record the speed aswell?", i started laughin n then he nudged me n started laughin himself  :Giggle .

Before they drove off i asked them what they were doing out, he replied, "Do you want the truth or some cock and bullsh*t story?" i laughed and said whatever he answered, "We are going to get a kebab!".

Chris then said, "We thought you guys were taking a photoshoot with some birds" to which i responded "Nah man, its too cold, theres not enough light and it aint summer! Come back next time, take it easy guys  :Thumbs-up. " Then they sped off into the distance, foot down as soon as the engine ticked over, crazy mofo\'s! Guess they were hungry  :rollin !

Thats brilliant, I have to admit though the cops around here are good too, as long as you\'re not an a**e. I speak to a few of them and they are sound guys, as GerryM says a lot of them (especially traffic) are petrolheads like us and can appreciate a nice motor.

Great stuff, good to hear the cops were cool about the vids bought time we had some common sense coppers out there.

If it was a busy day time launch then you can\'t blame them for bing heavy handed but these guys seemed cool, get them to bring the T5 to R3 and race the proper rx7\'s  :cheers  :Laugh
