Scrutinising Autotrader for FDs, I came across this one located close to me (cut and pasted from AT ad as links rarely seem to work!)

Quote1992 MAZDA RX7 Turbo 3dr Coupe,
Manual, 40,600 miles, Twin Turbo Efini . 5 months tax 11 months mot, turbo timer,Tracker and cat one alarm fitted, Had main engine service. Knight sport ecu, high pressure fuel pump, blitz twin induction kit, alloy intercooler, sard dump valve, high flow down pipe, hks decat system, HKS back box, greedy alloy intercooler pipes, Up rated shocks and brakes. It has koni adjustable shock absorbers, brembo pads and brembo cut and drilled disks. The car has A/C no sunroof, leather rear seats black and silver dash, white dials . momo steering wheel . One very fast car for great value. £5,000

Number plate is WCZ 1887, black 92 FD, pretty standard looking but plenty of engine mods, located in Loughborough.

My first worry is that the owner (Jamie Limb) tells me it had a rebuild at 18,000 miles (still waiting to find out who did it - he didn\'t have the receipt to hand when I spoke to/emailed him). Surely something is a bit wrong to rebuild after 18k from new!?

Secondly, it\'s running a Knightsports ECU: I don\'t know much about these. With all the breathing mods, is this OK? Are they re-mappable!?

If you want to have a look at it, try searching with post code NG1 1PS (not mine, but close enough!). It looks like everything I want (pics look great and clean - clearly not taken this year though!), but I fear it\'s too cheap to be true!

Please post if you know the car/owner, have an opinion on the mods/tuning or may even be available to take a look at it if I go for a viewing over the weekend!? :D Thanks! :cheers

If it\'s any use I saw this car on Ebay a month or 2 ago, not sure if it sold or not though. Might be worth asking where it was imported into, was It Ireland?? might affect registration. I’m sure others can tell you

Oh and if you see any nice silver ones for sale, let me know :mmmm

Cheers

I do know this car have met JAMIE a few times at local meets,

A very well looked after RX7 if i may say, has had the car for about a year and even then was looking to move onto another project thus trying to sell the RX asap. The car itself is mint, very nicely modded and very well looked after very suprised to see it down for £5000 tbh as worth more for sure.

See if i can find any pics:

Better still the MRC advert for his car  :Thumbs-up

Cheers fellas, appreciate the info.

Any thoughts on the rebuild mileage and ECU question?

Gurj, if the car hasn\'t sold already and I can get down for a viewing, any chance you would be available to take a look with me? Would really appreciate it! :D

Cheers mate, appreciate that. If anyone else would be available to come along, the more the merrier - many heads better than one etc.! ;)

Have texted and just emailed Jamie, as I\'m not sure what times he works - his email address is dhl.com so I guess he may work shifts (was replying to me at 11pm last night). Car could have gone already I guess. :(

I\'ll post again if and when he replies.

Cheers,
Ian

OK Gurj, Jamie is good for 10.30am tomorrow (Sat).

Is that any good for you or too early? I have to start fairly early as I need to get back to go to the match. Email me on ian[at]heroesofswitzerland.com and I can give you his address if you don\'t have it.

I\'ll post up in the General section to see if anyone else is around at that time to have a look with me/us, I\'ve only been to see a couple of FDs before and could do with all the assistance available!

Cheers!  :cheers
