Was speaking to a chap in the silver FD next to mine at Brooklands (see pic below) about the excellant job done on my RE-A wheels recently.

The company is at Biggin Hill Kent near the airfield. Very friendly and charged me £50 per wheel or £65 if you wanted the inner rim done aswell. Now bear in mind that these are 3 piece split rims, not parted but stripped and carefully masked up next to the studs. The result was VERY good and you can choose whatever colour from their range that you like. Mine now have silver inserts.

Call John at Leaves Green Garage on 07765 450 959. Mention my wheels on the silver FD. :chat

better pics of the front and rear wheels. They also rebalance them if you get the inner rim done.

Glad to be able to pass this info on.

But who was the chap I was speaking to though at Brooklands, who needed the number. His reg was RIOT RX and was parked inside the inner fencing?

That would be me then - thanks for the info, never did catch up with you after the photo shoot.

I started with nothing and I have most of it left

Nice... what did they actually do for you? Just polish, or polish and repair?

I need my wheels refurbing (mild scuffing/laquer peel around the edge of the rims), and thinking of getting them refinished (possibly in black) at the same time.

Well on my wheels the insert  was painted a pearlised white but it was peeling
and I could\'nt get anyone to deal with the wheels cos they are split rims. This company however had to strip back to metal, mask up the polished rim and then spray and laquer. Finally they were balanced again.

They turned out very good and much better/quicker than I could have done myself.

note to JohnF regarding another post on RE-A wheels type AW-7, these are 3-piece IMHO - the outer rim, the insert and the inner rim. Best not to try and split them totally, but let the air out and see if you can take off the insert to spray it up yourself. Be aware that the studs on the perimeter were quoted to me as being £10 each if you need to replace them. The wheel will then need to be checked for balance once it\'s put back together.

Looking at the Taka Kaira site they are on average £400 each plus shipping and tax  :2eek

Good luck
