Hi There,

Are there any knowledgable RX7 owners in mansfield who would be willing to go view/test a car on ebay for me for some ££?

Cheers, Paul.

Alright paul, rx7-mark lives in sunny mansfield, he may have a look for you. I was thinking if you put up the ebay link, we could have a look, you can sometimes get a good idea of a good one, buy the description and mods running :)

Well from the pictures it doesnt look very well loked after as the filters and engine look very dirty. And the car must have been originally black, so why was it sprayed yellow?. Engine has been rebuilt but it doesnt say by who?
It is difficult to say, but that is a cheap price, so why is he selling. I would definately get it compression checked but thats not necessary going to give you a guaranty the engine is smoked. I have seen alot nicer examples than that for similar money, but if your heart is set on it, hopefully someone will step forward and help out, bit to far for me. Good luck matey :cheers

Thanks for your advice! I\'m not set on that by any means - i\'m going to look at three tomorrow (this is not one of them), but i thought it might be worth a look if someone else was able. However, i suspect that its a dud too...  :Thumbs-up

Hi m8. I have just been to look at the car.

He doesnt know much about them, He took it in p/x. He didnt list it but it has the hks ssqv dump valve.
It has a aftermarket induction kit so it has the terrible cow sound to it (same as mine)

It says yellow on the v5, It came into the country that colour. It has one or two stone chips about the size of a penny.
He doesnt know any history of it. He has reciepts for work done and he has the reciept for the rebuild. I have actually forgot the name of the company who did the work, They are in lancashire called auto centre or something to that effect. Someone in that area may know of someone who does rebuilds.

It is a bit tatty, all it needs is a bit of tlc and probably about a grand to tidy it up. The engine would be fine with a few hours cleaning it.

I didnt get chance to drive it because he didnt have hardly any petrol in it but if you are seriously thinking about it i can easily go and give it a go for you.

If i had a few grand spare i would get it as a project but if you dont want to do any work i would leave it alone.

The car is registered to someone in cambridge, he hasent put it in his name.

If you need anymore info give me a shout m8.

why do people do that, run the car completely out of petrol when they are trying to sell it. i always ensure that it always has at least a quarter left in the tank if not more  :3Confused

Thanks for having a look mark!

I\'ve pretty much settled on one over the weekend after a lot of driving around up and down the country, pretty knackered actually... Just waiting for compression tests to be done and all will be go!  :3gears-rh

Which one did you plump for? And if you don’t mind me asking which other ones did you see, as I\'m about to travel the country too?

Cheers

I went for < this > one in the end. Really nice car, totally mint looking and very fast. The alloys aren\'t as bling as the photos make out - photos are taken with a flash, they\'re not actually chrome... :)

I also saw a dealer car near chester zoo (moston car sales) which looked nice, but the guy wanted £7k for it. I saw another in oldham (stuwizzy\'s car) but i wanted something more stock really that i can modify myself! ;)

Got to drive it properly for the first time today and i\'m very happy!  :3gears-lh

Ta, Paul.

Thats something people always do, when we brought the MGF i said to the Wife £100 bet theres no petrol in it, she said the dude selling looked alright like.

So we buy the car, first stop ........................... petrol station the light was on and everything
