Rx8 Prices

Wheres the best place to get a Rx-8 ?
a UK dealer, circa £22 list price I think ?)
or get one imported from japan or the states, both countires appear to be much cheaper than UK cars

Does anyone know the issues with the warranties, will mazda not honour the warranty over here on a jap or us car ? (isn\'t that illegal now)

Any help or views appreciated

At the moment I would have thought a UK dealer is the best option for a brand new one.  A guy at work has just got one for his wife, no wait for delivery, little choice on spec. but it shows there are some unallocated cars around.  He bought at list price.  

On the warranty I think if you buy in the UK you get 3 year warranty, elsewhere in Europe then Mazda Uk have to honour a European warranty (1 or 2 years?).  If bought outside Europe no warranty from Mazda UK.

Hi Dave,

 Agree totally with what Kevin has written as Mazda told me from the outset they would not honour warrantees on cars imported from Japan as these cars are different from European spec cars.

Uk gets 3 year, 60 000 mile warrenty and 3 year breakdown recovery (pan european).

Cars in Europe have to have at least 2 year warrenty.

From outside I would guess no warrenty - as the garages claim the work costs back from MazdaUK/Europe, and the bills wont be paid on an import.

There are a few cars around to be had, I dont see much/anything of list price (this car has a very small marjin anyhow, should realy be £3-4k more).

Jap import is very close to UK spec, with 250bhp, but not sure about things like xenon /washers etc.


Edit :- importing from US would be abad idea, low powerd car (com JDM) and left hand drive.
