grinding noise on ignition from warm????

I don\'t know if anyone can help but the last two times I\'ve driven my FD this has happened:

on first start up from cold it starts absolutely fine as it always has, but after a half hour or so drive, if I turn the car off for say 20 mins half hour, when I go to start it up again I get a grinding metally noise when I turn the key, then it fires up.

I am not sure whether its the starter motor or something, does any know what this sounds like?

i have been hearing this too but only on start up from cold

i am thinking it might ne starter motor or ignistion switch staying on longer by itself

but new to rx7 and not sure if they have a ring gear coz it could be that

i hope someone will know more!!

sounds like the solenoid sticking on the starter motor.
