using a microtech lt8 in conjunction with this nissan 90mm throt body will i be able to use the nissan throttle position switch or do i have to modify it to use the fd throt pos switch?
it is the q45 type used on  nissan 300 zx and modified skylines, i have seen it used on a couple of 13bs in aus.
its going on custom plenum so dont worry about mounting issues by the way.

Better to mount the 13b TPS.

Nissan TPS will be fine with LT8, it only needs TPS to switch between idle and load maps.

But if the ecu\'s configuration is for a 13b, it needs key sensors, ie tps and cas to be compatable. The tps needs to be set at the ecu, so if the nissans tps signal differs from the mazda tps, you will have problems with idle and load maps

The lt8 uses pressure Ref to switch from idle to load maps.

i have seen nissan q45s used on a lot of different highly tuned jap motors toyota, evos, subarus etc. they are that common that greddy make adaptor plates for a lot of differnt make jap engines so they can be used.
ive just had an idea to check voltage outputs between fd and nissan tps,
use my apexi on my fd to check voltage at dif angles for both and compare readings for voltages from throttle being closed to dif throt angles.
the nissan tps is very adjustable on elongated screws so hopefully i should be able to tweak it to get same voltage outputs for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full throttle.
if its a mile out then i will have to fit the fd tps on there somehow :2Confused
on the fd tps is there only 3 wires?
the nissan tps has 2 different plugs coming of with 3 wires on each plug, i presume one will be an idle switch and the other for thrott pos.

4 on maz tps
6 on nissan    uttohh!
back to your plan i think john

88GT-R

Is it a 13b rew ecu, or is it for a S5 13b?

s5 motor lt8 microtech loom with fd rotor housings and 8 injectors on 2 rails ie 4-550s and 4 850s using prim and sec std circuit with series wired extra 4 injectors. 4"plenum, 4 50mm runners onto inlets,t45

Yes the correct CAS will be needed to suit configuration of ECU, but TPS is only used to switch from idle to load maps. Pressure sensor is used in load maps only.

See post #7

88GT-R

Bare in mind that the S5 throttle setup uses two tps, one for up to 30% throttle and the second from 30%-100%. If the loom is for a S5, there should be extra wireing.

But Microtech only has 3 wires for TPS, live, ground and signal. When I wired up mine I just left short range feed unconnected.

im not using s5s 2 plunge type sensors john, that set up is for use with std set up with air flow meter.im wanting to use fd type tps sensor.
the cas sensor on s5 engine can be used on microtech lt8 so ive been told.
fduk what tps are u using?

antnicuk

on the tripple we have a microtec ltx12, we used the stock 3 wire tps that came with the Acufab 105mm throttle body and it worked fine, just needed calibrating
.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

I have a L10s Microtech on my FD and just used factory TPS.
