1) Charge battery fully, and /or jumper cables to another car.

2) Hold accelarator flat to the floor.

3) Turn the key and start, hold pedal until it fires, then let go pedal.

4) If it still doesnt start.... remove little pipe in the manifold that goes to the boost gauge,  and squirt about 5 or 10 ml of oil in there, and try the above procedure again.

5) If it still doesnt, start, then, well, ok , maybe now we need to take the plugs out and clean them.

wot lil pipe m8 ?
i can rem my pipe for the boost gauge was on the left handside onthe inlet manifold but now the pipe is at the back of the manifold......!

That\'s anew piece of advice you\'re offering Martin - where\'d you get that idea? Whats the idea behind this? I presume, the assumption is that the fuel has washed the oil away, so that you\'re getting worse compression in the rotors? So it assists in giving compression, and therefore starting? Am i right? Or well off the mark!?

hi mate just try\'d startin it by  Hold accelarator flat to the floor no go, it did almost make it but just died off,

ok, I have put an arrow where you need to put some oil in.

This theory is correct !  I got the idea from a US froum, where they said that if its flooded, then remove the plugs and put some oil in the plugholes.

This way, we dont need to remove the plugs to do it, but you\'ll probably need a syringe to do it.

The theory behind holding the pedal flat is this : tells the ECU the car is flooded and it wont put fuel in when you turn the key to start and hold the pedal flat. So we are just pumping air through, and sometimes its enough to clean the plugs off.  Sometimes its worth doing this and just letting the throttle off for a tiny millisecond and then floor it again, and do this a few times while holding the key turned to start, and it might just start up.

Zab, some will tell you to jack up the car to get to the plugs, but I just remove the black plastic elbow to get access.

I prefer going from underneath. But, yes, you can do it from above.

ZAB

right am away back out now try the oil ting c if it works,
turnin in to a mission (nd to jump the car everytime)

Martin, this idea sounds very similar to a setup used for the RX-8\'s. I believe they actually have a specific oil pickup point for when it gets flooded, so you can add extra oil manually.

ZAB - it may take a while with the method martin described. You may have to repeat the process a few times before it actually starts. Alternate between foot to the floor, and foot off for 10 seconds each one. After a while it should start - it\'ll be rough, and may want to stall straightaway: don\'t let it. There\'ll be lots of smoke, and it\'ll stink of petrol: this is normal for a flooded engine.

ZAB

there are two holes is it one on the left or right both ?

nikp

erm....the one in the centre! About 4mm wide

ZAB

RIGHT GUYS AFTER A **** LOAD OFF OIL (DNT KNW IF THATS GOOD..!) N ABT 45MINZ STILL NEVA GOT IT RUNNIN APART FROM A**** LOAD OFF WHITE SMOKE (C FEW PPL WER CHOKIN WEN WALKIN PAST :mmmm ) IT DID WANT TOO START BUT COULDNT GET IT QUITE THERE.

TAKE IT NEXT STEP IS CLEANIN THE PLUGS....!
WELL U GUYS WILL NEED TO TELL ME HOW IT IS DONE AS I HAVE NO CLUE  :2Rolleyes
THANX FOR ANY HELP GUYS
