Hi all I have arrived at that stage of the moggy build up where I need to be looking at the wiring for the little 12a. I have an electronic distrbuter, 2 coils, and a scary looking voltage regulator that looks like it was made before the war!  Can anyone help me with some simple-ish wiring tips. Like how to connect it all up?
 Any help would be great!
  cheers, michael

Question..is the moggy\'s wiring intact,i.e. ignition wiring, starter motor wiring etc,or have you ripped it all out.......?

travellinbob

Nope the moggies wiring is still intact. There were only 3 wires to take off the moggies original engine. They were on the back of the dynamo. But a previous owner has installed the vintage voltage reg. I intend to use the original push button starter on the moggy too.
 Cheers, michael.
Dont really want to re-wire the whole thing as i am a bit dodgy on wiring and it would take me about 2 months I reckon!!

Right guys.here is a short and simple guide to get your motor up and running. Its very simple so you can alter it to your own needs.

Battery - negative strap to body
           - positve cable to starter
Starter  - positve power to alternator
           - positive power to ignition
           - start wire to ignition
Alternator - L terminal of regulator on Alt to dash Alt light
Fuel pump - negative to body
              - positive wire to fuel switch out
              - positive wire to ignition
Coils        - positive power from ignition to Leading coil positve
              - positive power bridge from Leading coil to Trailing coil positive
Ignitors    - This all depends on what system you are running, slightly
differant for ignitors attached to dizzy and ignitors that are
                 detached.

Just be sure to put in fuses somewhere to safeguard your startup.Like I said this is a very basic starting point,it is not intended to be a permanant wiring setup, but just to get you going.  :)
