Hey all,

What does anyone think about this? I know you obviously have to make sure the volume you sit the sub in is correct and it\'d obviously need some sort of protection if actually putting anything in the boot but I thought it\'d be a good use of the space?

Legally, you don\'t have to have a spare, but if you do it must be in good working order.

Ta :)

Yup, nowt wrong with that idea as far as i can tell. You\'re also right about the spare tyre: you don\'t have to have one, but if you do it has to be sound.

Cool :) Best get measuring the volume of the tyre space.

At least the music will be good when you are waiting for the AA to come and take you to a tyre repair place  ;)

Might be an idea to keep a can of that instant foam fill up the tyre stuff in the boot just in case...

I have done thisvery thing!!  built a fibreglass box which fits VERY snugly in the wheel well, and the two 10" subs sit in the corner of the boot, leaving the boot nearly as huge *grin* as it was before.  It gives a 55 litre box, but still leaves a usable boot.

btw - am looking for a new ICE project, and am after 2 of the very thin subs that were sold a couple of years back...  I think they were done by Infinity?

I have used the wheel well for the same as a sealed enclosure. Fibreglassed the basein place and MDF\'d the main structure. I have an excellent DVD that I sourced on how to fibreglass wheel well enclosures (and kick panel speakers, etc) that came in use. It was expensive, but was invaluable in the end.

If you have any questions, please shout.

Archbish

You kidding?  He can\'t throw it that far - you\'re in Dudley and he\'s in Blandford!!
