Getting some bucket seats is something I have thought about for a long time.  I probably havnt done it because im worried about two things, on which some advice would be nice...

1 - Size

I have heard a lot of seats are too wide for the FD, so how do I know which are ok.

2 - Fitting

What do you do about subframes and the actual installation of the seat itself...

Are there any that will go straight in?

Im useless at doing things and if they dont go straight in they would likely just join my hallway (fast spreading to whole house) collection of FD bits... :o

How about the ones from a RZ ? or from a NAC6 MX-5 type RS (they could actually eb the same seat).

The carbon/kevlar units are VERY expensive. I have a bride bucket seat on runners, but it will have to be welded.

I dont have the £800 or so needed for RZ seats :(
I bet finding them is hard too!

Dan,

Does that mean you are sleeing that seat?  If so what exactly is needed to make it work and would it be able to come out again should I want to put the standard seat back?

I have bride seats too - not sure if they are welded but they are on runners.  One problem is that the thing you clip the seat belt into (technical term there) has to sit behind the seat slightly.

I would want harnesses anyway :)

sure i remember reading sumwhere that harnesses were more dangerous, for sum reason or other , than standard set up?
