Ive just started the rotarybug after i fitted the RX7 13b engine to it. Having fitted it, i have got it warm and water is ****ing out from what seems to be around the flywheel and bellhosing. I have let it cool, and tried re-filling, but it is pouring out the bottom of the engine. Now it ran sweet.......really well, until this point. What is there around this area that could have gone wrong? Given that i am filling above the thermostat on the engine, it baffles me why it should be coming out around there, as surely the stat would be closed, and water wouldnt be going into the engine? IS it possibly a house seal? has anybody got any ideas?

sounds like a core plug has failed.
You will need to get the gearbox off and flywheel to see and fix.

what does it do? is it just a bung in the bellhousing?

no,in the back plate there are 4 core plugs that are round and brass looking.
Behind the flywheel.
