Hello Mike D,
Welcome to the club.
We have all decided that your pickup is going to be rotorised,so you now have to come up with some thoughts on how that can be done, with our help of course!
Regards
Carl

Mike D

i would guess the easiest way to rotorise it would be to get a cheap gen2 rx7 and use the engine box and rear axle from that?

unfortunately i want to keep the column shift box and need it to be fairly cheap to insure as its going to be my girlfriends first car!

Mike  :Thumbs-up

Hi, Mike !

good to see you made if over here. Whats the pickup like now you\'ve had a few days to look over it ?

Mike D

Hi Mike :)

Its unbelievably good! the chassis looks mint, and the bodywork is none too bad either, theres a few little patches but nothing that wont sort...

Engine wise it smoked like a good \'un! got the head off now though, so a new set of valve stem seals should hopefuly sort it  :cool

plans are to wave the stick at it, the rear shouldnt be too hard, going to remove a few of the leaves and add some lowering blocks, the front is on springs which suprised me as i thought it\'d be torsion bar... so i\'m going to remove the springs and chop the bumpstops till its at a suitable height, then get some stiffer springs made up in the right length :)

ill chuck some pics up when i get back home  :cool

Well, guess what, someone just outbid my £25. Who on earth????  Is it someone one here?  Era, is it you?

If its not someone on here, I can only guess its Ant Cunnigham.

Maybe someone needs a boat anchor?  :rollin

Sorry no offense :Nono!

that 323 was up for sale a while ago ... looks like whoever bought it got fed up. If its an \'80 does that mean it should have a 1400 motor in it too. (its got the later square lights too)

Ah yes the "Roughy on ebay" thread! Is it just me or is there a lot of gaffa tape on the bottom of the doors :2eek
Now features no brakes or clutch, things have gone from bad to worse! :2Rolleyes

Richard

Still a 1300 Mike even with square headlamps :yes . Only Auto\'s and SP\'s with the 1400 motor

was it just the later estates that got bigger engines then (the thing that made me wonder was the seller mentioned it was nippy ... and they aren\'t !)

Found this while searching for a radio that works properly .... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MOTOROLA-classic-car-radio-12V-positive-negative_W0QQitemZ5860205126QQcategoryZ1498QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

not sure if its positive earth but how cool are those dials ROTORTASTIC !!

It was about \'81, when the front wheel drive 323 (X5) was introduced, that the estates went from 1400 to 1500, along with a restyled front end and interior

This was taken on the ferry back from Wexford where we used my navigators estate as a tow car/reccie car/chase car/service barge. We only actually put the car on the trailer to get onto the boat (I drove it too and from the ferry) as with all the weight and 5 hefty guys in it it was struggling a bit!It\'s engine lives on in my 1000 tho\':driving

Quote from: MartinyOldone, I have bid £25 for it, it gives me the option of making the car a bit more authentic in the future. You are right, I have a good 1983 12A lying in the shed, I think i will fit that.

Era, I took your  advice, Bud. I was outbid , I dont know the final price. Come on, it must be someone on here, who elses would want an RX-2 engine? I like the way the ad says "will fit RX-7" - err, no it wont, not unless you change the gearbox!
