miles have fade\'d away

hi guys
got few problems
1. handbreak light dont come on wen i put the handbreak up
2. the miles have fade\'d away n i cant c wots on the clock m.o.t needs done aswell.
can anyone help me wot the problem might b or has someone experiencd this b4.

Page 35, probably the connector for the hand brake.

As for the clock not sure, may have to replace the whole dial.

Hi Zab, in this case think basic as you can get, handbrake is mechanical, the light is electrical, so somewhere between the two the handbrake triggers a connection to light up the handbrake lamp, since the simplest way for the manufacturers to implement this would be to make a \'switch\' at the handbrake end of things then just pull the armrest out and there should be some wires to the rear of the handbrake, check those first. Odd for them to \'stop\' working, but if you pull them out then you\'d get the same symptoms  if you have a turbo timer then does it still \'function\' as it should, if not then it\'s probably a connection down by the handbrake lever too. Most turbo timers i\'ve seen don\'t function if you stop the car and turn it off without the handbrake on (ie. the handbrake lamp is off).

Off the top of my head (my car\'s offroad for a while) I can\'t say for sure but the odometer may be just have a series of seven segment displays for mileage, if it\'s not just a dodgy GND then i\'m afraid you \'could\' be done for, in which case have a look around and see if something tastier takes your fancy instead. Only other thing that may be worth noting is that i\'ve never seen a seven segment display fail in other applications, only the controller.

well my car was off road for abt a year lazy machanic,
wen i got the car back the turbo times didnt work i askd him he was like neva touchd it, i neva botherd takin my car back as he might off took another 6month just to look at it lol.
i will have a look under the armrest as i did pull it up to feed wires for my amp though there + i have a speed meter aswell functions are speed in km,trip not sure wot that is and it does 0-400 n that stopd workin aswell all i get is 0 on display..

fues are all ok so am guessin it might b the one thing thats casin all off these probs mght b wrong.
just lil tings like this that get u  :Grrr
