Hello guys just a msg to inform you which battery to stay clear from if planning a big install, i paid £300 for a singer series battery, couple of months later in packed in and would not hold its charge, it was replaced with another, which again went!!, the battery actually warped inside, looked like it could of exploded.
fryersales.com would not have none of it, first off saying it was overheated by engine heat,, i had it in the boot,, then saying it mut of ben damged by the tail gate hitting it,,, it was in the boot well coverd by wooden tray!!.
End of the day do not use these batterys! EXIDE MAXIMA or OPTIMA go for.
And no thay would not refund or supply another battery so my £300 ended up nothing.
Stay away!!!!.

I recently rang up a place that sells red top batteries - he told me that if you let those batteries go flat, there\'s no chance in hell that you can re-charge them. He said a lot of people come back after 3 months saying that their battery is buggered - and they can\'t refund any money because the baqttery has not been used in the correct fashion.

So these stinger batteries aren\'t like that, are they? Some sort of gell inside or something?

sounds right. If you\'re going to run the battery completely flat you\'d need an optima yellow top. These stingers are supposedly deep cycle batteries so they should be ok to run flat though.

Have any of you used Calcium batteries ?
A shop near me is selling them at a reasonable price, supposed to be Heavy Duty and safe for Boot Installs !

I am about to speak to someone from Pioneer about a demo car, so I will ask him what battery type they use.
