Quote from: Don PamponiDunno, I\'d keep this one if I could find someone to fit a rack instead of the steering box.  Spoils an otherwise sweet (&terrifyingly fast!) sexy car.

Thats whats made me loose interest really, I have had some interest from a local engineering place which i havent had time to chase up yet.  I guess thats another reason, since I got the car back i reckon I\'ve only driven her maybe 10 times, I\'m just too busy to make the most of her.  Hasn\'t been out the garage for a couple of months.

Thats a shame my steering feels really sharp, but i have had some that don\'t! sure i read somewhere about someone fitting a xr2 steering rack in one but couldnt be sure.
i will see if i can find it again

This isn\'t the first one of hese I\'ve owned & I\'ve driven other peoples too.  This one has the best steering so far but its still HEAVY & low geared like all 1st gens.

Hi Paul
have been following your tale of insurance company rip off merchants, can only say I sympathise with you. I was checking out some bits on Ebay earlier today and came across an Elford Turbo, engine in bits but body looks good. After convincing myself I didn\'t want it, I thought you may be interested.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that I had a look at it and it may have done the job but I did find a black one on ebay that I was bidding on but got pipped at the post but it did start to get silly towards the end. Some guy from Norwich bought it I think ah well

The Good news is that I had a Body repair specialist look at my car and said he can straighten it out so I will stripping it at the weekend so I Can get it ready to go down there.

After measuring the chassis points etc I found it to have been pushed in by 5 mm once its straightened I can then the new parts fiteed and welded better

Regards

Paul

Hi Don,

Didn\'t realise you were selling hope you get a good price for it With regards to the sterring rack problem mine is fitted with a gen 2 rack and no steering box.

Same problem when doing slow manoeuvering such as parking but great around the rounds.  Never heard of the ford conversion but might be worth a look

Cheers

Paul

ps what are going to get next 3rd gen??
