Michael. You are allowed to drive the car if you have an MOT Booked ! So you could buy it and drive it home provided you have an MOT booked for that day.

I am not sure, though, if it has to be the closest place, in the same county, or whatever,  might be worth investigating.

MikeLMR

you might get away with that ... although I bet the fine would be more than the cost of either hiring a tow waggon and trailer or get one of these haulage companies to go fetch it.

Quote from: travellinbobI cant believe that no-one has mentioned all of the old skool New old stock on there at the moment. There is heaps. And i reckon that the guy has loads more.
 cheers, michael.

I think he\'s from a Mazda dealership.

I\'d be interested to know how much he really thinks he\'s going to get for the RX-3 rear lamp surround. It went up to some crazy price last time and yet didn\'t meet reserve!  :2Rolleyes This time round it looks like no one can be bothered with it :Giggle

MikeLMR

well I\'ve asked him what he\'s got in the way of 323 bits ... last time I sent a question to someone on ebay it was Rich LoL ... I\'m pretty sure it isn\'t this time !!

MikeLMR

it\'s HG Bryers selling the bits ... Spoke to Alan at Rotorstock and he seemed a nice chap, he\'s also a club member.

mullins

You think he would advertise in here first. :Nono!

travellinbob

Have you bid on the rx3 lamp surround? I did but think it will either go for stupid money or simply out of my league.
 cheers, michael.

Naa I watched the first auction go well past my budget. Great if you\'re building a show car and want the qdos of having brand new parts on it, but too much being asked for me to justify to my Mrs!

My guess is most of these items will end up heading downunder. There seems to be a lot of Ozzy bidders keen.

MikeLMR

Can I just say somthing

ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY ONE POUNDS !!!  :2eek   :Hammer  someone got a bargain !! ... hopefully they will stop in and say hello :Typing over here on MRC   :wave

just found this, I wondered if anything could realistically be done with it. I believe that Mazda recommend filling the engine with oil if its being stored.

mmmmm    Thinks..........

travellinbob

Hmmmm thinks it might be a bit knackered now, but could potentially have quite a few period rx2 bits on it tha would suit someone trying to restore a 2..?

Carl

I would say that if you can get this engine it maybe reasonable, but it would certainly need pulling apart before anything else.
The rotor housings generally do not suffer, but the side plates maybe a bit corroded as they weren\'t nitrided at that time which offered a certain amount of corrosion inhibiter.
Come on Martin,nows your chance!
Regards
Carl

My twin dizzy needed a rebuild after sitting for a year & 1/2 while I was over here living in 2001. My parents ran it occasionally but a slight corrosion built up on the plates which screwed the side seals when I got it running again. This backs up what Carl said above.

That\'s one rusty engine!
