not sure how the hell you got that quote but i would be accepting andpaying for that straight away, 1100 at 21 with no ncb?

this is for a fully comp insurance yes?
with about 3000 with my parents on the policy (experienced drivers) being used as a second car, cat 1 immob, garaged, 8000 miles, 2 years ncb, 4 years driving at 21.

just went to admiral again and with 3000 miles with the above, its 1486 tpft and 2238 comprehensive. elephant was about 2000 fully comp iirc.

Ant

It is for fully comp yeah. You said its as a second car but is the first one insured with Admiral as well? Even when i phoned them up my insurance quote was cheaper than £2238 & I would accept and pay for it straight away if i could afford an FD. Not yet but i think its a good new years resolution though, to have an FD by the end of \'06.

I hate to say this, but have you checked to see  if they are doing a 2.6 and a import? i\'m 36, woman, been driving 17 years no ncd cos there on my other car, my hubby is 25, ( like um young) they told me for an import you have to be 25+ for a quote, now bearing in mind i\'m the main driver and the insurance is in my name.
1137.00 fully comp, so your quote is cheaper than mine? my hubby couldnt get insurance without me  cos they wouldnt touch him, cos they said hes only 25
If you can read this..............i\'m to slowwwwwwww  :3gears-rh

Ant

i know its a really good insurance quote but there are other things involved like the area and your occupation.

I dont work and my hubby works for network rail (train man) live in a small town, cant really get any better, make sure its an import, some quotes i got were for 2.4 and not an import then  it was 596.00, makes a great deal on the price for an import, and i rang everywhere, (spent 3 days ringing) A Quote being the cheapest and then they messed up and papers came out saying 2.4, but the changed it to 2.6 at no cost to us as we had paid in full. just be careful its a very very fast car, scares me, i\'m the one driving round at 30 lol

Cheers for the advise but i am sure its for a \'2600\' fd. Don\'t worry i will be taking it easy when i do get one as i know i won\'t be getting another if i stack it. I know its a big jump in power but i do have a 2.0 16v megane at the mo (i know 150 - 260bhp is a big jump) so at least im not going from a 1.1 fiesta into an fd.

I\'m with HSBC 97 type rs import main car kept on driveway no lilited mileage or classic £528.00p per year full no claims though  :p

gmogle

I went through A-Plan, they got me a quote of £695 with the mods declared and also unlimited mileage.

Although gotta update the list of mods soon so hopefully it wont be much more !!

Quote from: GmanHow old are you? i\'m with AON (over 25\'s) and mine is £500 on a year classic policy limited to 6k miles.

Are you sure it\'s 6K miles? I\'m with AON on a classic policy limited to 5K miles and the broker (Chris Knott)  told me this is the maximum offered (this is a sore point with me at the moment because I\'ve done 4700 miles with 3 months still to go!!!) Which broker did you go through? :xconfused
FD or not FD? that is the question.

It\'s not just the jump in power but the transition from FWD to RWD neads a little more care in slippery conditions, but most of all it\'s the way the power is delivered and the way it handles....an FD just eats corners, the faster the better. And if you let the revs climb it just accelerates faster and faster and the grin on your face gets wider and wider. You can drive fast but also drive smoothly be very aware of road conditions and watch out for launch of second turbo at 4500 RPM. End of lecture!

taken on board and appreciated, i think im a pretty good driver (doesnt everyone) i don\'t think im the best ever though so i will take on board any info on driving the fd i can as i dont want to end up in a ditch a week after getting it.

cheers
