hi

I went to brands hatch yesterday and got a bit worried as to what my engine temp was reaching

can you tell me if 97 degress is too high?  this is what it peaked at but mostly sat at about 94 degress.

is this ok?  or do i need a bigger radiator?

what ?

are they OK temps do you think?

I was going to ask blitzboy to lower my fan kick in to 90 degrees  Is it worth doing this?

If your going to drive it that hard then yes

james01uk

well i will be doing one track day a month

I will get a good radiator when i have the money but i have other priorities first.

so thats what i will do then.

thanks

I take it you mean water temps yes ?

If so it is not unusual to see 100oC on track driving depending on time of year of course.

I would get a bigger aluminium rad, bigger intercooler, Aluminium AST, Lower the fan kick in temp to 90oC and add water injection for summer track driving.

That lot should see you cooler  :cool

is 100 degrees still safe tho?

I think 100oC on water temp is ok but you have to watch the intake temps as if they are too high you will get problems.

This time of year all will be cool but in the summer months its a different story, i\'m sure someone like Stickers is better equiped to answer track day questions as he does quite a few.  :yes
