Series 1 LSD

How can a person distinguish(outwardly) between a normal\\standard series1 diff and an LSD diff.Are there markings or is it just by model and year that it is assumed that it is an Ls diff ?.
Just dont need to strip it down to determine what it is.

did you see the thread about using an mx5 diff a while back ? (it is in the 1st gen section I think)

Thanx Mike......found out that the LSD diff will have a tag on to tell you its an LS and what oils to use.However they were only fitted to the USA and other countries GSL model.The UK never had a model with it factory fitted.So its a visual check,no tag,no LSD.
