Hey guys, its been a while!! Been a touch busy with work/band etc recently to even look at the site nevermind post anything! Well after a few winter months of crappy weather here I finally got out to the garage and started stripping her down!! Ive attached a couple pics, I\'ve got loads but they all pretty much the same, please feel free to add your views on the condition of the body from what you can see etc! Since the fotos, the bonnets off, doorcards are off, windows are out, all thats really left is the engine bay and the dashboard.....but just received my workshop manual so consider it gone as of tomorrow evening!!!!
Damn I missed you guys! :p

mullins

Welcome back Colin :WaveBye

The 4 looks pretty straight from those pics you posted! What colour are you going to paint her?
Hope you\'ve read the post on the mini-meet, would be nice to meet you!

Thanks man! Its been too long!! Well I reckon shes staying red.....but probly gonna get a deeper red, nice and shiny something that will contrast with the chrome really well. Got a while to decide fully......everytime I see a nice deep blue I think yum, but I\'m 95% sure it\'ll be red!! I\'m still not driving (I know I know) shouldnt be long now though, got my test booked etc and I\'m hoping the car will be done in time, if it is, you can expect to see it there for sure! Also the pics are gonna stop once its fully stripped, gonna keep them all till shes complete! : )

update....
checked post....18th Feb??? Cant make that, car wont be ready!! :(

MikeLMR

it looks pretty solid from those piccies.  Wha have you got planned ?

McCARTHY

What do you have planned indeed???? Will this be a restoration project  :cool  or or a super quick catch me if you can project  :3gears-rh

Martiny

Well I\'d like to put it back to how it rolled off the factory floor, this however looks to be alot more costly and difficult than I thought, so far the plan seems to be, drop it low, get some nice rims on, retrim the interoir to match the exterior and tidy it all up with a bit of chrome and a nice sound system (gotta be had, I do like my music!! Cant beat a bit of gerry rafferty blasting out the stereo!!) Gonna be pretty simple really!!!

thanking you! well the boys are cumin round on sunday, planning on getting the engine out, the front wings off and the front doors off too.....then check for rust and starts prepping the body :)...........were quite optimistic bout what we can get done in sub zero temps on a sunday afternoon!!!

ska

doors and front wings off, everything out the engine bay bar the engine, just waiting on the A frame then its out!.......the previous owner just waxoyl\'d over a shedload of dodgy bodywork....mainly on the passenger side tho, spose its better than on both huh!!!?!

Martiny

What A frame, you dont need no stinking A frame ????   Just take as much as you can off the engine, then you and a friend pick it up and take it out.

ska

the 929 engine as light as the 12a???
