Hi, I have just removed my engine for a rebuild and have a few questions.   The engine wireing loom us very brital, Are there replacement sections available or do I just make my own up??    I seem to have a seriously cracked exhaust manifold, are these still available, is there an uprated unit available which would be better??  I have enclosed a photo of the exhaust ports, should there be some U sections in there, or is that only on the non turbo.  While the engine is stripped what sort of modifications are recomended to enhance the engine and for what benifit??

The cracked manifold seems fairly common place, uprated ones are available, but ensure you buy one made from decent guage sttel.
As for what modifiactions you can do to the engine, it all depends on what you have planned?  I would recommend speaking to some of the specialists at the top of the page, they will be able to advise you on what will best suit your needs.

Just for the record, how many miles has that block covered?

Hi thanks for that, The car has covered 80,000, with most of the service history, There is a note saying that the engine was rebulit in 1994 at 22,000 with new rotor housings, but no paper work to back this up.  When looking at the engine today there are numbers painted on all the bolts behind the flywheel, so maybe it has, who knows...  What mods were done to your grey turbo, did it effect drivablity, fuel consumption, reliabilty and for what performance gain.
