I\'ll keep a look out for you Stu theres a hand controller on ausrotary at the moment will probably go for less than the one on ebay.

with a decent wideband its fairly easy to map. Must admit i got Pip to map mine initially but since then as i\'ve done any mods i\'ve been tweeking the maps myself. Bit closer for you i think reworx are microtech agents.

shortcircuit

Quote from: sadgothIt can be done with a fuel pressure regulator and a boost controller.
where can you get an uprated fuel pressure regulator from and do you have to modifiy your fuel rail ?

Fuel pressure regs are easy to get hold of any of the vendors or ebay are a easy source. couple of different types either adjustable where you set the pressure you want or rising rate same again you set the pressure but as the boost increases so does the fuel pressure. Can\'t say for def with a fc but i imagine its the same place as the fd and cosmo build into the end of the fuel rail. Easy mod if you can braze or know someone you can is to cut the stock pressure reg of and braze a pipe fitting on in its place. Pipe from there to the inlet on the new pressure reg then the outlet goes to the tank return.
Make sure you put the pressure reg after the fuel rails not before as it regulates pressure in the rails by controlling the fuel return to the tank.
Pressure reg on my car is in the circle

Cheers mate, I\'ve not done any form of mapping before, but something that I want to learn. Do you have much experience at all?? Is it something you get better at the more you do/understand?? Figure it would be....

Some how think that I\'ll get the car mapped and do as you, tweak it as need be with improvements I make. At least I\'ll have a good base to work from(that will be safe)....Last thing I wanna do is blow it up, fiddling with things I shouldnt!

Also, have you found any site\'s or info with regards to tuning/mapping these ECU\'s- have been looking around AUSrotar, but can\'t really find what I\'m after :(

just bumping this back to the top

i think im going microtech route to be honest .. BUT .. in the mean time my insurance is due and i might aswell fit either the blitz or the apexi as a middle measure

SOOOOOO

which one shall i fit

the blitz is plug and play - the apexi needs to be cut into some wires ( now not sure if this will affect the fitting of the microtech once i find one )

the blitz looks easy to use - just 3 dails - the apexi a bit more complex but you can tune each 500 rpm step ( aswell as seeing Knock level , real time rev on a digi display )

SOOOOOOOOOOO

as a temp measure - which one shall i tell the insurance about :D

a QUICK answer would help as i need to insure her today or tomorrow - friday LATEST

cheers chaps

Stu,

Since the Blitz is plug and play, why not try it first, if you don\'t like it you can hoik it out pretty quick.  At least you can see how it differs from stock.

I have a blitz tuned standard ECU, which is fixed mapped for exhaust and intake mods.  Makes a huge difference at the top end and broader power band as well.  Plus no rev limit, which is a bit scary first time you leave the foot on the metal.  Not been tempted to go beyond 7700 yet, cos I don\'t know what would happen, but the A/F meter and boost gauge look sensible on WOT.  :cool

If you get bored with it, and fancy some wiring you can plumb the other one in.

i like your idea matey - its just how to insure the car with either of them on

thats the interesting bit :D

and id rather insure the car with the mod declared then i dont have to pay for "ammendment to policy"

so like i said - not sure how to progress !! LOL
