I\'ve been reading the spark plug sticky on Ausrotary and the consensus of opinion seems to be the best plugs for a highly tuned rotary are NGK B11EGV. At the moment I\'ve iridium plugs in but will be swapping them soon for the new season. Have any tuners/vendors in the UK any experience of B11EGV plugs either good or bad?

im not sure about the plugs on any other gens apart from the 3rd gen, but i know that if you are going to run  or want to run big power the 11 and 12 plugs are best

I\'m running 11\'s at the moment mate just a case that theres a tech sticky on Aus rotary at the moment and there basicly saying that B11EGV\'s are just as good as iridiums, performance wise. Without the risk of housing damage due to the tips failling that some of the iridium plugs are prone to. Another bonus is there a quater of the price. As the Aussie\'s tend to tune there motors a lot harder than ours i\'ll probably take a chance and try some as it seems no-one uses them across here.

I wonder why no one uses them here? That thread is pretty interesting, seems like we\'re wasting money on the iridiums! :(

Price saving is quite a chunk when your putting six of them in, but the main thing is the risk of housing damage due to plug failure that they\'ve been having with some of the plugs. Going to order a set in the morning so i\'ll see how i get on with them. :2Rolleyes

I\'ve always used B8EGV in my n/a motors. Never heard of iraniam(sp) - are they like NGK platinum?

Hi Kev, good find and interesting read. I see also looking here that if you go for a 10 they do an Iridium equivalant(@ £6.84
+ VAT each). What Iradiums are you running at the moment?

This link  is also useful to show what all the letters and numbers mean

At the moment I\'ve got NGK R742-11 Iridium spark plugs in  going to go B11EGV and try them for this year.

Hi Kev, have a read of the warning I put out a while ago about plugs !

After our conversation about plugs early last year I\'ve made sure to use NGK\'s Clive. With the price difference of B11EGV\'s as opposed to the iridium\'s with no apparent loss of performance that\'s the way I\'m going to go this year. At that price i don\'t mine carrying a spare set around with me as i tend to get fouling problems if i do a lot of stop starts shows etc without a run in between (nearly had a non start at Thorsby last year) but need a hot plug when its all cranked up full.

The iridiums are similar to the platinum\'s just a bit more exotic and expensive

B10\'s worked fine in the winter, with the slightly lower ambient temps, however they only lasted one race meeting.... :Typing  :eek
