Hope it not only me that really doesnt like them (apart from the RX2 which is kinda cool).  Far too showy for me.

I dream of stuff like this:

Yeah I agree Lee, although I think you can learn different things, from all different styles. I even buy the custom mini mags, some of their ideas are great. been looking at a lot of hot rod stuff at the moment, cus my own car is gonna have a 1 piece front end, bonnet, wings and nose. It is also gonna be space framed at the front but still road legal.
BTW. If anyone wants a FD shell for racing, I have one, although it cant be used on the road, for legal reasons.

I dunno, I\'m kinda torn. On the one hand, those chrome wheels look horrible (in my opinion), but the paint schemes I don\'t mind. I think the flames on the silver car work quite well. None of them are exactly my cup of tea, but I could probably pick out bits of each of them that I liked.

My biggest problem is that, being show cars, the performance of the FD is wasted. For all the use they\'re going to get, they may as well not have engines... Sure the rex looks nice, but its appeal is equally in how it goes, for me at least. So to see its performance sacrificed for the sake of bling bling is... wrong somehow.

I\'m so annoyed at the moment - I have a bunch of pics and some video to put up on site as I went to the show.

Having problems accessing the server from Oz :(
Thanks,

Very shiny!

I really like the paint on the 3rd pic down.  Kinda what I\'ll eventually go for on mine but more blue-based.

I think chromed alloys can be good but not my cup of tea.

Syney Auto salon pics are the same every year.

There are about five guys in oz who go for the show theme.
They change their cars every year,
Full interior leather dash and airbrushed colour change, 20Inch rims and Big turbos then they never drive them. Cause it might scratch the paint.

IMO Stupid!

There are some cars with airbrushed leather seats and gearbox housings etc etc. WTF?

But to each their own.

I agree with JP4 Rx
The race look is much more appealing for me. In fact thats the kit I have to fit.
The paint will be changed but probably more to a chalk black or jet fighter grey. until I get back to OZ

Having said that I did buy a half light kit so I can leave the headlights Half Up... (But its totally for the extra underbonnet cooling I will get)  :rollin

Should look something like this photoshopped version soon.

I always grin when I see 19" alloys and the like on show cars. In most cases they are heavier that the stock items, so do not improve roadholding and in fact screw up the ride quality. But then again 85% of the aftermarket is not about actually improving performance but merely lightening the wallets of the max power brigade.

Dan Norton

I like the purple/pink one, very clean looking, and the chromes suit it in imho:)

I think personally aswell 19" wheels look awesome on the rx7.

But on the other hand i love all the re-amemiya cars, and love the race style look.....i\'m hopfully gonna try and get a good mix from both scenes when i start moddin mine when it arrives in the new year!

Dan!!
Turned into the worst part of my life....my precious fd3 has gone, but never forgotten....roll on a new life!!!!

bill shurvinton

Ah you see for me, if it doesn\'t improve performance its a waste of money.

davefrith

yes but there are some very pretty wastes of money about :)

Pretty usually gets ripped off the first time you nerf a tyre on a handling course :-)

I have a lovely scuff down the side of the westfield from a day at brooklands. I wear it with pride.

However I also think that doors and roofs are unecessary in a performance car and seriously thinking about ditching the windscreen to save more weight and improve the aero.

I have been told that this sort of behaviour is not considered normal by many car nuts, but seems eminently sensible to me :-)
