Hi guys this is my first steps into becomming a rx7 owner but i have a couple of queries, i am bringing the car in myself from a friend in japan its a type r bathurst in silver ( looks gorgeous) but the small red warning lamp is on the temp gauge and the heat warning lamp is on, now i have been told that the car does not start and has overheated. I have been looking around at prices for engine rebuilds and got a bit of a shock ( I used to own a r32 gtr skyline and i thought their rebuild pricese were high), i am a nissan hi-tech to trade so thought i might do the rebuild myself, now has anyone done this before and if so is there any step by step guides to help me. Can you guys please help as i need to make my decision on buying the car tonight.......cheers guys :Thumbs-up

gary at rotaryart sells a step by step guide on rebuilding the 13b rew rotary engine. I bought it myself and it is a good find..i think it costs about £50 off gary but well worth the money. take a look at the rotaryart banner advertisements at the top of the page. The dvd`s come from australia and i think finding one in this country will be a rare site, gary is the only 1 i know who has them in stock . The main website for the dvd`s is here http://www.diy-re.co.nz/diyre13b.htm

well for a engine rebuild inc forged pistons, possible cams , new gaskets etc would only be about £2-3000,even less as its a engine i am familiar with, but there is alot more to the rb26dett. I think i am just scared by the amount due to not knowing much about these engines and it seems alot for not really that much ( but i know they are very complicated verses a conventional engine), i dont know what to do now guys the car is at a very good price to turn down

If you have worked exstensively on a modern high performance piston engine then I don\'t think you would have to much trouble with the rotary.
Yes,they are specialist engines but the vids and this forum will help you through it.
Also I and others would be I am sure very happy to give advice and help if you get stuck at all.Give me a call any time.

You are now joining a very tight knit owners forum between here and FDUK.Org. The Knowledge and friendly help that is available is beyond compare. NO QUESTION is to small or to large, you will get the answer.
How much would it have cost you to take a standard R32 and make it a 10sec car and I mean everything down to the dog box. ????????? :Confused2
Then ask one on the tuners how much I think you will find the FD is by far the better deal. :Thumbs-up
I\'M ALWAYS IN THE SH*T IT\'S JUST THE DEPTH THAT MAY VARY.

if you dont fancy doing the rebuild and you do buy the car, someone may have a nice rebuilt engine for sale that you could slip into the car.
