Going to have a look at my rear bushes at the weekend as i need to find out why my car is so insistent on trying to go backwards.

But i realised that i don\'t know what bushes that need replacing look like, so if anyone has any pics of good ones and bad ones i would be grateful

The ones on the FD are metal with a plastic/rubber wether seal.  Will have a look to see if I have any piccies when I get home.

Im at work and on my lunch with nothing better to do!  :D

These arn\'t specific to the RX7 but these are generally what they look like  :)

I presume perished rubber or distorted shape would be a sign that they need replacing or is it a case of see where there is too much movement?

Is there a guide as to what bushes need replacing depending on the type of movement your getting?

Madden

The only way you can tell is by taking the wheel off and giving the axle a good shake and see where the movment is coming from.  I could tell you that it is more likly to be the first bush on the top arm and the first 2 on the bottom arm.  I have just replace mine as a got anoyed with all the knocking when going down bumpy roads.
The way that i found out which ones where nakered was by removing the wishbones and feeling for play in all of the bushes.
I had 5 of the same bushes that where nakered.  For 2 of them with new weather seals is £135 form your local maxda dealer and they normally will be able to get them in for the next day.

Hope you have some money ready

Cheers Jamie

£135 fooking hell, i hope there made of gold for that money!

Madden

Yea tell me about it.  I had to do 5 of them.   Are you going to do it yourself ?   Because if you get someone to do it for you it will cost even more.  I took all the wishbones off went to my local garage and asked to use their hydualic press but if you have a vice you can do it all you self.

Gman

Yeah i would do it myself, or i would start to do it, realise i can\'t and get my dad to sort out the mess i was in.

Madden

it easy mate just take note of the poistion of the camber bolts on the bottom arm and the rest is easy.   Takes about 30mins to take one whole side of.
