Im loosing about a pint every 8 miles or so.  It appears to be accumulating on top of the rotor hosing under the rats nest and the dripping off the front of the block,   There is also a sort of ticking/ knocking noise coming from the same sort of area.
Does this sound like a rebuild or are there some water pipes in the rats nest.

that sounds exactly the same kinda leak i had. there is a rubber hose about half inch wide and 4 inch long directly next to the alternator. You will need to remove airbox if your car is standard, loosen air pump to slacken the belt, then remove the alternator.

Cheers, will have a look in a minute.

Only replace the pipe with a Mazda one, whilst you are at it change the other one that runs to the left to your turbo\'s. They only cost a few beer tokens and they are pre-formed so you cannot restrict the water flow. ( Thats why you get the Mazda ones ) It\'s a very common repair. But if not done can cost you the engine. HTH.

doesn\'t look like it is those hoses, im suspecting something further back but more disassembling required.

There is a pipe that runs from the rear area of the plunum and goes to the rear of the throttle body to cool that and if you take the T/B off there is a small pre-formed pipe that is the water feed back into the system, it may be that one, as it\'s hidden and if it was dumping water it would go into the rats nest. Whichever it is change them all for new as you will have done all the work stripping it down. ( It is worth it, if only for piece of mind ). If you still can\'t find it then it only leaves the solid pipe work that may have rusted through. Now that is a pain as it may involve removing the turbo\'s.
Anyone else want to step in if I\'ve forgotten any pipes etc CJR maybe. :wiggle HTH.

Cheers for the help.  Looks like it was the pipe from the wax stat on the throttle body that goes to the rear housing ( I think) .  Wont no for sure till I get new hoses on friday.
