Hello everyone!

I am building my new engine here.
It is a 3 rotor short crankshaft based with following mods:

-made by Jeff Bruce short crankshaft with racing thrust bearings
-series4 8.5 comp ratio lightened rotors
-full balanced rotating assembly
-constant flow crankshaft oil jets
-external moroso 3stage dry sump oil pump with direct oil feeds to housings
-racing rotor bearings & 3window stationary gear bearings
-NRS 3mm cearamic one piece apex seals & springs
-GSL SE 3mm solid corner seals with FD 93+ springs
-series6 stationary gears

goal is to get 1200whp at 35psi of boost with custom ITS lightweight GTB91 turbo.
I will run it on ethanol with out an intercooler.

Now choosing right porting type.
I am thinking about going with big street porting but with custom intake manifold.
Dont really want to go with PP because of all its disadvantages, I think big street with a good turbo will also work well..

How do you think?
Please advice and let me know who can provide me with good porting templates.

Prepearing for Rotorstock! :))

WOW!!!!! that was fast!  got all your gear now Ivan :)

It is a big figure to aim for without development of engine/intake/ecu system etc.  It is possible, but you will need to purchase the good gear I feel around the engine to help you achieve the goal.

Setting up your intake system is going to be a big job, designing a plenum that will flow the air/fuel you need to flow etc.

Porting templates may be an issue to find, unless you find a friendly builder who has been into your type of territory with what you want to do.  Generally speaking you may struggle to find someone willing to share this kind of information out (not saying it is impossible though!).

Exhaust ports will also play a very major part in trying to achieve the power you want to achieve.

As this is obviously a very serious set-up, I would also suggest that you invest in having the engine put onto a proper Engine Dyno, obviously with people who a very experienced with the dyno, how it operates, and obviously one of the biggest issues - which is getting someone to tune it!

There are a limited number of people in the world who have actually achieved the kind of power levels you are looking for.  Of course - most with failures and learning along the way.

What about the rest of your chassis, gearbox, diff?  These will also be very key in helping you put that much power to the ground!!!

Very exciting mate!  :)
Thanks,

hi Glenn,
thanks! :)

well, I am the only rotary specific engine builder/tuner here and need to learn how to make it by myself..  This is why I am writing in forums because I have no other source to get the information...

I am surely going to dyno it well, hopefully we do have here dynos:)

As for chasis then it will be custom solid rear end (like ford 9 inch but diffferent, from one japanese truck but completly rebuilded with custom spool installed)  with a th400 top level tranny.

I do really hope that some of the good engine builders could be able to help me with advices and templates.

Ivan,

Hope to see this at Rotorstock, sounds amazing if its ready in time.

There are a few rotary experts here on the forum, i hope they can assist you.

There are no engine builders on here that have made that sort of power...... yet... so they probably wouldnt have templates that they have used.    As for porting, i\'m no expert,  but i think as Glen says, with everything else done to the other parts of the engine,  large street ports will do the job, especially as Turbo with PP appears a lot  more difficult to tune.

Did you use 20b end plates?,  we built ours last night, the 20b ports are massive to start with, we street ported it,  there is only so much you can go on the stock plates wihtout going for a bridge.

Good luck,  the spec sounds awsome.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Kieron

Did a quick google search and found this and this may be of help also

Would be amazing to see it over here for rotorstock, we should start up a pot to bring Ivan to the UK  :god

thanks guys,
the main in our projects is friends support and your support is great.
definetly i will do my best to complete my project in time and bring my car to UK.

as for porting type then short crank based engine is pretty tricky about that...
i will have to use two intermediate plates thus second combusion chamber will be filled up with two intermediate ports, but first and third - with one intermediate and one side ports each. i dont believe it is possible to make intermediate port looks same as side thus there is no way to fill all three combusion chambers with same flow.
now i think that the only real way to go with short 3 rotor engine is to run PP or semi-PP...
now trying to get more information about how to make semi-PP.

that will be a problem,  i know its too late now, but can i ask why you went for a short crank 3 rotor instead of a 20b engine which has the same ports for each?

i desdied to go with short shaft because it handles more than 1000hp.
it made from better metal, has better flow oil passages inside and less flex at higher rpm and power.
20b stock shaft is much worser in this way.
also i can use cheaper FC housings.
