Spec : 88 vert turbo

Hiya chaps

i have the above car - and the idle is terrible and it doesnt sound like a rotary should

after getting all the exhaust back on its still pants

but i have noticed a faint waft of smoke from the rear of the engine ( looks like its coming from the down pipe ) - but its only a faint waft - no pressure behind it

im wondering if the manifold gasket is shot at .. so how do i get to the thing

any one done this before - is it a "on the drive job" - or something far bigger

any ideas will be greatfully accpeted

sorry i can provide more info - i will see if i can get a vid of it over the weekend to see if that helps

Cheers

Stu

Do you not remember me swaping the turbo on Johns T2?

Easy mate, it should take you no more than a day to do on your drive.

Have you tried tightening the manifold/Turbo nuts up? they may have worked loose?

Yeh, you can only get the Turbo-mainfold nuts with the turbo in place.

To get the Manifold to engine nuts you have to remove the turbo then the Manifold cover.
