Hi,

Just a quickie...a few people have told me that an FD diff and casing will bolt directly onto an FC TII. Is this true?

thanks

Grizzly

yep, you use the T2 casing and the Fd diff.

But you want to get it swaped by a pro. Its not as easy as it sounds to get spot on.

Jit

ahhh....someone told me youd need the fd casing and diff.....i didnt think that was do-able....

would the same principle apply for an fd aftermarket diff into an FC?

Grizzly

Nar the FD casing wont fit (diffrent mounts etc) you have to remove the Diff from the T2 case and fit the Fd one. You may also need the Diff output shafts? when i did mine i may have used the t2 Shafts becouse i mixed them up like a Muppet.

The reason i say take it to some one like Pip is the Backlash has to be set up and new Bearings fitted or it may not last to long.

Jit

you mean the half shafts? whos pip lol?

Grizzly

LOL, No the two shafts that stick out of the side of the Diff the half shafts fasten too.

Pip as in WGT fame Hes done more than one of these swaps and i\'ve never heard anyone complain. ;)

Jit

he\'s a bit far from me though lol!

Dont spse you know anyone closer to say London by any chance?!!!

Grizzly

Ok, your location tag kind of covers some Distance. :)

Being a Northerner i\'m not to clued up on people around the London area that do this sort of stuff, i\'m quite lucky WGT (Pip) is on my door step.

Anyone know of a place that has done this swap before Down London way?

Jit

cjr

you just need the FD centre and it just swaps for the FC centre. the caseing won\'t fit unless you weld a FD back half into your car btw.
