The instructions which came with my ebay converter are:

Step 1 - Chip Preparation [list=1]
  • Take the converter chip and crimp 2 M3 ring terminals to the ends of the RED & BLACK wires
  • Crimp a male bullet connector onto the end of the YELLOW chip wire
  • Crimp a femle bullet connector onto the end of the GREY wire
Step 2 - Speedo Conversion [list=1]
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery and then carefully remove the instrument panel from the dash.
  • Next remove the clear glass screen from the instrument panel and find where it says K/M/H on the speedo clock face. Apply a piece of black tape o cover up the K so the display reads M/H
  • Now replace the clear glass and turn over the clocks.

Undo the lower mounting screw on the rear of the oil pressure gauge marked `IG+` and connect the ring terminal on the RED wire to it.
Undo the left hand mounting screw on the rear of the oil pressure gauge marked `GND` and connect the ring terminal on the BLACK wire to it.
Locate the central 12 pin instrument panel plug and cut the 2nd from the top, right hand row, `YELLOW/RED` (or possibly BLUE) wire about 3cm from the connector. Crimp a male bullet terminal onto the connector end of the cut and a female bullet terminal into the loom end of the cut.
Now plug the respective bullet wires on the chip wires into the bullet terminals you just crimped on the loom and plug.
Refit the instrument panel and test.

I hope that helps.

i had the dash out ready so it took minutes to wire it up, cheers guys!

(is anyone else\'s a bit \'notchy\' tho or have i got a bad earth/connection?)

I have`nt had any problems with mine. Though mine has only done a couple of miles since being fitted.

jonny

seems to be ok most of the time, every now and then it sems to jump from 25 - 30 - 35 not very smoothly?...

nikp

Stuck speedo most likely: very common that. I\'ve had it, and so have other people. I replace mine - now i have a stuck rev counter!
