I think there are a few things knowledgable people (not me, sorry) might need to know before making comment;

Are you still twin or single? (assuming it\'s an FD)
Do you have both an Apexi and controller at the moment?
What boost controller do you have?
How much boost are you wishing to run?

When I was running the twin set up, boost was controlled by the Apexi (well the original solenoids) without a separate boost controller.  However, I have heard that a separate boost controller running side by side with an apexi gives better control (stable boost pattern) when you up the boost.

Now that I\'m single I have a blitz controller and Apexi set-up with an external wastegate.  i think (guess) that the apexi high boost limits must be set slightly higher than the boost controller.

hope this helps

no clue at all.

Having read a few similar posts about this kind of thing on the forum, i think (and i could be wrong here   ) that the boost control function of the Apexi does not work too well and that your much better off using an after market boost controller, like the Profec B or the Blitz...

...Hoping someone more knowledgeable can confirm or deny this without  :flamed me lol  :D

Profec B with the Apexi PFC works great (WGT recommend this set-up).  Without the Profec B i had dips and spikes all over the place...  Used the Profec B at Cadwell Park this week and had rock solid 10psi boost in every gear (stock twins) using the low setting.

i have twins
and stock apart from exhaust and apexi and profec b boost controller
i have been told to use the apexi over the boost controller by someone but i always thought it was better than the Apexi.
So he has confused me or is completely wrong lol

I would def use the boost controller, apexi does not do a particually good job, it doesnt seem to stop the stikes. Profec b is a very good controller and will smooth you boost curve out nicely.

The APEXi boost controlers are getting a bit long in the tooth now, the AVCR and the PFC use the same solenoid, the design is about 5 years old now.

Best bet is the Greddy one

Apexi is crap, but there is not a viable option against it in the UK. So as others have said, you are best off using the boost controller.

your answers are on par with my own so that satisfies the fact that i am right lol :-)
