Can anyone tell me what kind of power you can get out of an HKS TA45?
I\'m not so hot on all the technical bumph of these motors yet but I\'ve got one fitted on my car with huge ports, it\'s yet to be mapped.
I believe it cam out of one of Jay Dee\'s cars  :)

This turbo was discontinued a while ago.

It is fairly old school technology, quite large. Around the same size as a T78 but not as efficient. Still good for 500 + hp on a rotary. There is also some lag associated with this turbo but you can control that; depending on how much you port the engine.  ;)

Ed, I didn\'t mean his actual car, I think he had in running in someone elses car according to Kerim.

Freddy - The ports on my engine are large, the next size up is a bridge I believe, I think it\'s gonna be way too quick for me to be honest but bring it on anyway!
I\'m thinking of buying the Blitz SBC boost controller, will that help me in anyway apart from allowing me to turn my boost down??!!!

Freddy

Well the boost controller will allow you to keep the boost level low/high accoridning to wether you are driving around town or on track, drag strip.

Other than that, there isnt any other use.

I have known some people use the SBC but then switched to the GReddy Profec B Spec II which seems to hold boost at the desired level better.

Either way, you should get a boost controller.

Thanks Freddy, I appreciate your advice. The Greddy seems to be around the same price. If you had to choose yourself would you go with the Greddy and will my turbo more efficient with it?

Cheers

Freddy

Yep, I\'d go for the Greddy. Unless the Blitz one is the same as below. This I\'ve heard a lot of good things about and is the much improved model from the it predecessors. However, it is not and the ones you were looking at are the Blitz SBC Spec S/R or the Greddy. Then choose Greddy.

Any of the two will not make the turbo more/less efficient. Well I suppose, if one is good at holding boost level more constantly then it can be deemed as being more efficient for the turbo.
