Howdy folks. I\'m thinking about getting a pair of these clear rear sidelights off ebay:

As you can see, unlike the red one\'s I rather hastily removed from my j-spec car and sold, these clear ones have the cut-out for the marker light a la US-spec cars. Does anybody know if the J-spec cars have the wiring and bulb holders tucked away in the back of the car somewhere?

Cheers,
Chris

Sorry Chris cant help with the question!

But you might wanna look at these!

Seem better value, also do them seperately if you only need the rears.

Nice one, cheers fella! I\'ve bought off procarparts before, they\'re pretty good.

Hi Chris, i bought the same type for my front indicators, they came with free bulbs but i had to buy bulb holders from Mazda, (not cheap!). for the rears i modified my red reflectors and made them into extra sidelights (not sure if thats legal) in answer to your question, i saw no wiring in there for the rears at all for them in mine! 93 type X

Ah ok, cheers Bob. I\'ll probably just end up putting the red reflectors back if I can find a pair. I wonder if there\'s a universal bulb holder that\'ll fit the clear ones?

ro284

i dont think there is, i had to modify some holders from my scrapped scorpio kerb lights, very fiddly though, you have to drill out the back of the blanks reflectors, and glue bits of tube in, etc, but the wiring in is quite easy really, i am pleased with it as at night, the park lights are inboard from the side of the car, and these lit up avoid (hopefully) someone not realising how wide the car really is,

How much were the bulb holders from Mazda if you don\'t mind me asking? When you say front indicators, do you mean the repeaters in the wings or the corner markers actually in the bumper? Did the mazda holders plug in without any fuss? (Sorry for the barrage of questions!!)

ro284

No probs mate, i mean the orange corner markers in front bumper are now extra side repeaters i got the chrome effect ones and wired them in with the front indicators, i think the bulb holders were about £16 the pair, from memory they plugged straight in, as the holders i ordered were same as side repeaters on the front wings.

Interesting comment - For balance: I sent them payment through Western Union, then they screwed me! No parts, and no answer to e-mail.  I wouldn\'t spit on them if they were on fire!

MillSpeed

fduknow, that\'s sh*t mate, how much did you get stung for? Surely there must be a way you can report them?

Bob, are these the bulb holders you got from Mazda?

Millspeed,
You\'re right mate - was ****! There is very little help to stop w*****s like that.
In the end I had the credit card company "withdraw" the payment for me. Then I just had to put up with the endless e-mailed threats of legal action from Western Union.  Nice that I end up the bad guy because ProCarParts don\'t give a $h1+ about their customers.

On the other hand, Emma from modworld.co.uk sorted out a little problem double quick with no quibbles. But then she does have an FD ;)

mine came with the red reflectors pre wired up ( ie light up when i have my lights on ) was this standard on some or did someone do this ? :xconfused

MillSpeed

I know the j-spec cars didn\'t and the US spec cars did (all american cars have got to have corner marker lights). I\'m not sure if the UK cars had them wired up tho. If yours is an import then chances are someone has wired them up themselves.

chris p

hmmm..well it did come with a drift diff snd d1 drift stickers on it ....wonder if it was an american import ? or is that not possible ??
