Hi everyone,
Well ive got my car, picked it up friday and wow, everything i\'d hoped and more.
I do however have a few , i\'ll call them teething problems.
I hope this is normal when you import a car that you havent drove (looks worried)

Passenger side window will go down but not back up, but from the drives side, i can put it back up, been onto a site that will send a switch for a tenner plus vat and postage (does anyone know if this is an easy job for me to sort out?)

Theres a knocking, sounds like its coming from the back wheel, i have no idea whats causing it.

Its had its mot, and the clocks have been changed to mph, but i dont think for one min this has been done right, to be honest i have no idea at the moment what speed i\'m going, i have to put the sat nav on and it shows me my speed in the corner, ive ring a place in mansfield to get this sorted out, sounds like this is going to hurt my pocket a bit, but its something that needs doing, is anyone else from the mansfield area that could give me the name of a good affordable garage? i dont want a place that thinks, well if he can afford to run this he can afford to pay this.

As of yet i have no turbo timer, the car is standard in every way,
been looking on ebay as i cant seem to find a shop that sells these in mansfield, or arent i looking in the right place? ebay has a greddy one for 51.00 plus postage at a tenner, so 61.00, is this a good price to pay?

Anyone that could give me any hints and tips, i\'ll gladly listen, as i\'ve always owned motorbikes before, so owning a car like this,  i honestly dont know anything about.

I have a similar problem with my speedo, reading \'low\' I solved it by buying a \'road angel\' mainly so I had accurate mph reading and I bet it\'s cheaper than having your speedo re-calibrated, if you can find someone to do it.

Congratulations on the purchase mate :wave. and Mansfield thats not to far from me in sunny Bourne. Right some possible misguided advice then. Unfortunately where we live in sunny Lincolnshire it is right in the middle of cok all for a decent garage in afraid. I have to make a 3 hour 130 mile drive to get to my nearest rotary specialist in Newbury. And the other one is near Manchester. If its little jobs you want doing and pretty cheap the only garage i would recommend is Prestige Vehicle Imports in the Sleaford area. They are Jap specialists and i always go there for oil changes and the like, and they are a friendly bunch. The knocking sound from your wheel could possible be a wheel bearing, but i would get that looked at as soon as possible, but unfortunately they arent cheap( recalls someone was selling some on here not so long ago) . Sorry dont know anything about the window or your speedo. As for the greddy turbo timer, there is someone on here selling 2 in the members for sale section, could be an insentive to join ;)  ;) He is selling 1 for £40 and the other which looks pretty much brand new is £50, but you will need a wiring loom for the FD which he only has one and that is another £10, so that ebay price looks about right if it comes with the loom. Hope this helps, and you enjoy mazda ownership. Well the sun has its hat on so im going to get mine out the garage, All the best Andy :wave

When i swapped my speedo over the wire that passed the speed back to the ecu needed to be cut to splice in the speed delimiter and converter. I had a problem with the gizmo and had it swapped, the new one didn\'t have the delimiter wire so i left it cut.I had a problem with the speedo like what your saying, it under read terrible at over 60 (ish). So i ended up splicing it back in and it was alot more accurate. Its still naff over a ton (on private road) but i use my pfc as the speedo now.

I\'d take it back to the mot place that did the conversion and ask them what they needed to do to install the gizmo.

Hope this helps. Enjoy what is a fantastic car, just be careful in this god awful weather, think your riding your bike and take it easy :)

The knocking sound from the back wheel, could it be the infamous bushes? Mine does this over bumps, also when accelerating from rest :(

Probably as well getting you\'reself either a speedohealer or yellow box recalibrator. Both these devices are user programmable a easy 2min job. Standard kph/mph converter only converts by a set amount and takes no account of any other mods ie non standard wheels/tyres different diff gearbox ratio\'s. Running a spedohealer myself it took about 15mins to fit and three short runs to calibrate against the gps on the snooper. I\'ve calibrated mine so its bang on at 100mph but seems pretty accurate either side of this figure when checked against the gps.
