Quote from: ashci\'ve used mine as a daily driver since May, but only notched up 3000 miles since i don\'t live too far from work. I didn\'t buy it to gawp at! Fuel consumption? who cares!!

Well said Ash!-similar mileage-you work at SGH?

Well, i\'ve just got myself another car so mine\'s no longer my daily drive.

Didn\'t want to use it in the snow and crappy weather, so i set out to get a cheapo runaround.

Ended up with a \'106 Rallye 1.3, totally standard apart from white compomotive alloys and a Magnex back box. Holy crepe is this thing fun!!!

Also means i can now put the Rex on a classic policy, woohoo!

I\'ll post pics of the Rallye up when i can be arsed, its awesome!!!

Quote from: big_spin_flipThere is a garage in Birmingham that re-builds and works on RX-7\'s, but i wouldn\'t consider him a specialist in the same league as Pip or Ross at Dragon. His name is Chang and he is at Optimum Auto\'s in Mosely. Worth going to see him to check over the looks of the car, but i take mine to Ross for any work (near Honiton - but worth the trip).

If you just want to have a look at one, i\'m based in Redditch so you can always come and have a look, although bear in mind that mines heavily modded (and the 2nd turbo still hasn\'t been fixed yet!)

A wicked might have to take you up on that offer, do you have a contact number for chang? Its just down the road from me so that would be perfect.  Thanks for the reply everyone. I never been in a 7 but from seeing them fly by me on the motorway and watching getaway in stockholm 5 I have fallen in love with them.

I\'m still running my engine in and did Chigwell to West London and West London to Mid Wales on just over half a tank, I was shocked. Mind you, I wasn\'t taking it over 3/3500 rpm and my second lot of injectors don\'t kick in till 4000. The petrol is a small price as I can say that it was breaking my heart watching Ford Fiestas and other various economy cars over taking me with nobs behind the wheel thinking they\'re fast!
The car did, however, start to cain the fuel around town once I was there...shame, bring on hydrogen horsepower!

I use a twin turbo RX7 daily and single turbo during the weekends. Both are as practical as one another with a decent, streetable clutch. As long as the essentials are mainted i.e let the car warm and cool down properly, regular servicing. Then you should not encounter any real problems.

On average, around town fuel consumption is 180 miles to a full tank. However, when on the motorway. I can quite easily get 320 miles to a full tank.

That said, I have done over 10000 miles on the RX this year combined. Think 2006 will see a cheap diesel.  :)

That\'s only around the £2700 mark Freddy!

well, did a long run to Cambridge and back over the weekend, and worked out the fuel consumption. Fair enough, i was heavily boosting as much as possible, and had a great laugh, so it was worth it, but dang! 17.76 mpg !!!

hehehe that was 320 miles to the tank of optimax. its like, wow! thats excellent price compared with rides at Alton Towers!
