I know the power commander would dop this, but I aint got the cash for the Apexi and comander just yet, and this toy may let me control my fans until then.

Thanks folks.

Never ever seen one of those before chris!!!! :eek

HKS fan controller!?!?!.....who\'d have thought :yes

Probably will do the job for sure.....its gonna confuse the person who buys the car off you whenever you sell it, as they\'ll be trying to set a turbo timer up :D

Dan!!
Turned into the worst part of my life....my precious fd3 has gone, but never forgotten....roll on a new life!!!!

Hi Chris,
I don\'t have the HKS fan controller but I\'ve got the Billion variable fan controller.  It was on the car when I bought it and I have to say that I\'m pretty impressed with it.  It\'s great at letting you know the water temp and helps keep them exactly where you want them.  Mines set to come on at about 81 degrees so basically my water temps never really go above 84 even if I\'m booting it.  It\'s always clicking on and off if you\'re stuck in traffic but really helps the car from heating up like crazy.  It\'s also great when you\'re on a cooling down run.  I\'d recommend it, I\'m really glad I\'ve got it on mine as my water temps are so stable now.

Cheers

Hey Jake, do you have any instructions for your Billion fan controller?
is it the \'dual water temp gauge\' that youv\'e got?
I could do with some pointers on setting mine up properly
Cheers in advance
Andy

Jake

Hi Andy,
Not sure which version I\'ve got, it just says Billion Variable Fan Controller on it.  I don\'t have any instructions with it or anything, it just came with the car which came from Japan so they\'d probably be in Japanese anyway.

It was pretty easy to setup.  It just displays the water temp digitally.  When it gets to a certain temperature the fans come on.  After some pi$$ing around with the controls you can get the temp value to flash.  Then you just push up or down to make the fans come on at a higher or lower temp.

Hope this helps

lovely jubbley matey,
i will have a play around with it at the weekend
Cheers for the input

PS have you noticed that after you switch the engine off after a run and you go back to it ten - fifteen minutes later the temp gauge shows something like 110°C plus? I\'m hoping its due to heat soak, just thought i\'d ask if youv\'e noticed it.

Andy

Jake

yeah I\'ve noticed the temp going up to that after it\'s been shut off.  I think thats pretty normal, I presume thats it\'s just because the water has stopped circulating and being cooled so it sits and goes up for a while before coming back down.

just out of interest does the apexi control when the fans kick in ???? (awaiting flaming)

If so, where do i change the settings ??
