I\'ve had to relocate my battery to the boot as there\'s just no room now the huge intercooler is in, I\'ve read that it can be quite dangerous if it\'s not vented properly and has to be a gel battery as, in the unfortunate event, of a crash the battery could crack and throw acid everywhere. I know that there are a couple of car companies out there that now have their batteries in the boot but they have all the venting built in.
Does anyone know what the best kind of battery to run is, I\'ve spoken to a company that does marine batteries but they are not really for starting and running a car as they\'re designed to be discharged then re-charged,  apparently they\'re the best choice for ICE if you\'re gonna have the battery inside.
Thoughts?
Advice?

Cheers

Ty

Thanks Gman, I\'ve had a look at this thread already but it\'s a bit short on information about a standard size battery. I don\'t really want to put a smaller one in as my car may not be used for a week, sometimes more (a waste I know but I still get my kicks from my beloved GSXR750!)
When I spoke to the guy at battery specialists in Reading, he said that the marine batteries will have a certain amount of times they can be recharged i.e. 85, and running it to start a car will work but it won\'t last very long.
If I go for the smaller one then the alarm will cain the battery when I\'m not using it. The other option owuld be to keep a battery booster/jump starter in my boot but that\'s not really practical so I\'m a bit stuck for ideas at the moment.

That looks just the ticket, where did you get it and how much did you pay?
I\'m presumming you have it in your engine bay instead of your boot?

Thanks veilside, I\'ve had a look at them and they oook like they could be fine for the boot. I\'d obviously still have to get the venting...can\'t be breathing in any more unwanted gasses than I alsready do!

look on page two on the thread I just posted got some pics of where I have placed it in the engine bay also there is the link on where I bought it from Apexperformance , I also bought the extra connectors to make it compatiable with the female battery terminals of the FD

the red top is fully sealed can be mounted upside down and leaks no fumes/gases

That looks great, it sits nicely in the bay. It would slot in perfectly behind of my stupidly large huge intercooler!

Thanks mate

my normal battery is in the boot and has a little vacume sized pipe coming from it, i just plugged a length of vacume hose to it and poked it out under the car.

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!
