Hello all,

This is my first post.

After a bit of research I can\'t find an answer to my question, so here it is:

Who can I ask here around to import in Italy a FC3S LHD or even better a FD3S?

I need it to be LHD, so I think the US route is the way to go, but can someone point me out to the right people to ask for the right procedure to do and a figure of the costs involved in such a thing?

Oh, I know I could even get a LHD FC/FD in Germany (full of rx7 over there, marvellous!! :D ), but still, can someone help me out understanding the  procedure or laws involved in importing a car between EU countries?

I am thinking of importing a rx7 because there were very few italian Rx7 due to taxes back in production times, and the owners willing to sell them now, are asking crazy prices (I found a 1992 FC3S with 100k km on the clock for â,¬ 7000  :eek , while 1993/1994 FD3S start at around â,¬20000 ...that\'s a lot of money I think...), so MAYBE the import route is cheaper at the end (german FC are sold even under â,¬ 2000  in good conditions...)

Thanks for any answer that could help me out. :wave

Hi Cody,

Welcome to the club. I don\'t know for sure what the procedure is in Italy. That is one thing you will have to find out at your local authorities. Provided you found a car you like and bought in Germany, to get it out of that country and into Italy, you have to get it de-registered and you will get an export certificate to prove the car is going to Italy.
Since it\'s not an unknown model to Europe like the Skyline, and also not a recent one, SVA is not necessary. That is some sort of certificate to prove that the car complies with European standards.
Make sure you get as much documention of the car as possible. One thing I can tell you from own experience is that you need truckloads of patience. It\'s not going to be easy, especially when it\'s the 1st time!
Cheers,
Juri
