I think my Verts ABS is playing up?

This is the scenario, I\'m driving my car out of the workshop this Morning and one of my collogues though it would be a good idea to hide at the side of the Roller doors and jump out. Well it weren\'t that cleaver as my car just slid. Thought it was really good though seeing him bounce of my Verts Alloy Bonnet. :reallymad

Anyway i tried giving it some stick up the road and slamming on couple of times with No joy.

Anyone got any ideas?

Ta..

no fault indicator? good job your brakes still work eh!

Grizzly

Well this car has some history with Brakes, It had a blown engine when i bought it and had been sat in some ones drive for Three years. So all the usal stuff had happend (Brakes stuck on Clutch stuck etc) so i got it back and free\'d it all up. Then a month or so after i got it MOT\'d the rear Calipers started leaking.

Anyway to cut a long story short its Had 2 new rear Calipers, full set of Braided Hoses, New Disks all round with Hawk pads, new master Cylinder, Fresh fluid the list goes on.

The only time i\'ve seen a warning light come on is when the calipers started to leak and that was a level indicator. To be honist if i had not slammed on i would not have noticed. It drives fine and stops very well. I just don\'t like having something fitted if it aint working.

I know what\'s wrong - your ABS unit is not working because you don\'t have one. ABS was not fitted to cabs.

(God I hope I remembered this right - otherwise I\'m about to have my pants pulled down...)

my 88 doesnt have one - thats for sure !!

Love it! :rollin

I presume that you bled the ABS unit too, when you did the brakes overhaul?  I\'m sure you would have done! :)

I guess your sender unit could have gone?  Did ALL of the wheels lock up or just one?

So just to confirm is your cab a UK spec or Jap spec? :D

Yeh i bled the whole lot. New fluid etc.

Yep Mine is a UK car (whats left of it). Ah i\'m just being negative, i just like to remove rust rather than plate over it. So i have replaced the Floor,Inner and outer sills etc so it will be Mint when its done. (Thats if the doors fit when i cut the cross bars out :))

To be honist i would not be suprised if ABS was an Option when the car was new.

Mayhaps!  I have a UK brochure, will have a look tomorrow! :D  All I can see from a bit of digging is that it was standard on the US NA only cab too! :D

But this is not sorting your problems out! :rollin
