Let my Dad use the rx this week cos I\'m using another car to do some company travel in, get in tonight and hes made me a new silencing bung, great I think, that should keep the plod off of my back for awhile! (Not to mention my annoying neighbours.)
Anyways, I treid to fit it but I couldn\'t get it in properly, cue the old \'Give it here you limp wristed tart\' comment from my old man.
Right now its in and wedged poxy solid, the back box has a mandrel bent pipe about 18" b4 you get to its flange so I\'m stuck with it in there until I make up a tool to remove it with :(

 Total boost now 0.3-0.4 bar.
 Total boost yesterday 0.8-1.0bar.

Oh well at least its saving the engine I suppose.....

oh dear! mate i wouldnt have bothered with the flippin silencer.. my neighbours hate me, they told me to go back to my own country the other week (yeh figures since i was born in this town and lived on this street MUCH longer than they have) they seem to think i can make my 323 get 60 up the street (NO WAY ENOUGH ROOM 4 THAT) i got a good mind to get the cops to give them an asbo!

anyhow back to your problem. i would drill it out with an extra long drill bit or get a dremel cutter and have that bad boy out in a minute, or at least make the hole bigger!

humm been thinking about this ...

your probably best taking off the entire system

bubble wrapping it and sending it to my house

seems the only way to me brett :)

dont you just love dads !!.. i spent ages filling holes in the astra , sanding them flat , priming them , was just about to spray them .. my dad walks over , grabs the can , sprays it on the car , paint runs all over the place ... turns and says "too much mosture in the air" .. yeah thanks for that !! sheeeesh !!

sorry to hear about your problem , hope you get it fixed soon .

you running 1 bar brett?,    what sort of mods you got?,   a TII won\'t last very long running that sort of boost without fuel and charge cooling mods.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Listen BRETT your dads a cool, placid, forgiving, understanding, loving and sensitive father......my words would have been "listen you lil weak wristed bitch ! your dad is cool....LAY OFF HIM   :D

Grizzly

just get loads of WD40 on it then hammer it to about 1mm from its life. ;)

It\'ll blow out. Failing that do you know anyone with a slide hammer? Or Can\'t you grip it with some pliers?

Brett

LoL!  The fueling and the cooling are sound ;)

As a rule I do intend to run with the bung in place 99% of the time, it would have been handy if it was removeable though!
I\'m gonna have a go at removing it tomorrow and drilling a few more holes to get the airflow up.  I\'ll also panel beat the b*stard thing to within an inch of its life to make it easier to remove!

Oldone, I hear you :D  We\'re talking about a man who has done a 600yrd wheelie and burnout in an Isetta with a V twin bike engine.  He\'s always calm and collected :D

Oh yeah, it only gets anywhere near 1bar in 4th or 5th, but I take pains to make sure I dont let it! 1st, 2nd and 3rd are around .75 -.8bar normally.  And those are the gears where I play :D

Are you using a boost controller?, if not the duty solanoid raises boost in the later gears which is why it runs more boost.

What mods have you done to \'fueling and cooling\' ?

I\'ve got a hybrid fuel pump that I made, flows fuel better than the stock one.  As for cooling I have a water mist that I\'m working on and have trialed a few times now with good results.  Once its all working properly I will put up pictures/diagrams and a write up.
